Anonymous access should result in read permissions. The edicom user should
have write permissions as well. This works. Trusted clients map the share to
some windows drive and can write to the share.

Hi,
two days ago my functioning samba/ldap server stopped working. I *think* the
problem is somehow related to the fact i transfered everything to a new
server, but that was two months ago. Trouble started yesterday morning after
a power-outage.

Does samba server handle multiple smb commands (not necessarily andx commands)

in one packet instead of three separate packets, does samba server
handle it i.e.
respond to each of the three requests?

No, I am talking about multiple smb commands in the same tcp frame and
not necessarily andx commands.
I see a tcp frame with multiple smb commands going over to Windows XP
server and the server either responds to the first command and ignores rest

Ok,
i've found a work-around for now. I made this bash script:
#!/bin/bash
/usr/sbin/smbldap-userdel $1
/usr/sbin/smbldap-useradd -w $1
/usr/sbin/smbldap-usermod -a $1
And called this script from within samba, instead of the original script. It
works, but this is not how it should be. Does

You mean 4-byte header FF 53 4D 42?
In another recreate, tcp frame has two smb requests,
close (0x4) and locking andx (0x24) each with this four byte header.
