Regarding Jim Morrisons request for lunar eclipses in 1582. I ran an astronomical simulation for 1581-1583. There were no (umbral) lunar eclipses that were visible in both Madrid and Mexico City. During the actual year of 1582 there were no total lunar eclipses anywhere in the world

In 1582 there were two solar eclipses and three lunar eclipses. Lunar Eclipses were, all of them, of penumbral type and their magnitude was very low, so I think, they could have been appreciated with difficulty or not at all. Anyway, the first one (June 6th) was visible from Mexico City only, and
