Michael, the grep stalled for me at grep: /lib/udev/devices/ppp: No such
device or address, the following works better:
$ find /lib/udev /etc/udev -type f | xargs grep -i watch
For me, watch is used in /lib/udev/rules.d/65-dmsetup.rules, too
(package dmsetup).

Seems you can reproduce the crash much more reliably than me (as I am
not able to reproduce at all). Are you able to test if the crash happens
with the version in jaunty? You should be able to simply download and
install the kile deb from jaunty in intrepid.

moneyapple, that is not a bug, it is normal behavior that occurs after a
package manager is interrupted.
Run
sudo dpkg --configure -a
and you should be good to go.

I had a huge dependency problem during the most recent KUBUNTU 8.10 upgrade. It
seems that the cause was that
digikam (2:0.9.4-1ubuntu1) depends on libkexiv2-3, but that conflicts with the
newer libkexiv2-7 on which other packages depend.
