I was so pleased with Ubuntu (9.10) on my desktop that I installed it on
my Acer TravelMate 4001LMi laptop, too. However, on the laptop (but not
on the desktop) I cannot shut down properly. I get a black screen, most
usually with the following text:

Note to readers:
This version boots 100% on my laptop, Dell Inspiron 1100. There are
many bugs listed for this mother board having issues with previous

lucid will evolve from this.

I may be missing something but I wasn't able to get this to work.
I added the network-manager network-manager-gnome from the ppa
referenced and I still get the greyed out Apply button as soon as I pick
any security option. I deleted all the connections as mentioned, but
still no luck.

I tried rrdtool_1.3.1-4ubuntu2.1~micmord_amd64.deb and python-
rrdtool_1.3.1-4ubuntu2.1~micmord_amd64.deb and worked fine. My test was
a python script that imported rrdtool module and created an empty
rrdtool database file.
Tks.

My MacBook 4,1 is currently running Karmic 9.10 amd64 and is still
having various issues with suspend:
1) Resuming from suspend takes rather long, with a blank screen being
shown for at least 15 to 20 seconds before the password entry box
appears. This is probably due to KMS being disabled per
