All right, I found the issue. The file will not play in any other player
UNTIL after VLC has been closed. After that it plays just fine.
So to make sure you have a usable file:
1. Wait a few seconds before stopping the stream.
2. When done with the stream, close VLC. the file now should be

I have the exact same hardware - a Satellite L655D-S5050 - and this fix
doesn't work for Lucid 10.04.1 LTS *Server* (64-bit). I guess it was a
driver fix in Desktop?

I should note that the time was actually off by an hour in the wrong
direction. If no time adjustment took place at all, the time should be
6:10 (this time of day yesterday was 6:10pm), but it is showing 4:10.
I'm quite sure that no one manually adjusted the clock, but I find it

Yes, I can recreate it.
I'll run a couple of Maverick installs tonight to some 4G sticks.
I'll use a Maverick created installer, and capture the grub.cfg, and fstab.
If I can, I'll grab the log files off the install media too.

Impact: Gnome-keyring contains a regression from lucid that doesn't
allow users to unlock ssh keys upon login.
Bug has been addressed by adding a minimal patch containing two upstream
commits that fix this issue. See included debdiff.
How to test:

indicator-datetime should either have a calendar daemon forked from
evolution, replacing evolution, or it should have a virtual package
listing supported calendars - and expand it's support. The daemon idea
sounds like the simplest and best idea - but a comment from the
indicator-datetime
