I can confirm Dan Kegel's experience in comment #122 was the same as I
had on my machine. Mounting a partition I would not be using with
nautilus and answering no to the in the installer's prompt allowed me to
continue. This definitely needs to be a blocker for 13.04, in my
(admittedly novice)
I think the USB printer/HDD is in sleep because it doesn't react as
expected as I mentioned in bug description.
I've attached CurrentDmesg.txt (output from xdiagnose) while filing this bug.
That output provided when this bug occured.

I have this same issue on my Dell XPS 13 ultrabook with Intel HD 4000
graphics. I believe that the 3.8.0-19 kernel is causing the issue, if
I boot to a previously installed kernel everything works fine. Using

It turned out that I pasted that fix into the wrong section of grub.cfg and
actually the computer was just working by magic (or whatever makes it sometimes
