So the thing to verify and test is that the Killswitch states match what
urfkill list is telling:

when testing, make sure you have swiped the greeter away before trying
to use the indicator.
Couple of things to try:
1) enable flight mode
2) enable wifi

switches using rfkill command line utility.
Just do "rfkill block wlan" and see from dbus-monitor output that no
PropertiesChanged signal is emitted and the state property still
constains a wrong "unblocked"

an active AP in the list. Instead that will trigger a reconnection. If
you don't want to connect to that AP either disable Wi-Fi or select
