pstopdf that worked for me

my printer is:
Bus 005 Device 004: ID 04f9:0027 Brother Industries, Ltd HL-2030 Laser Printer
I use hpijs driver (PPD attached).
this ppd worked with cups 1.3.9-2 (from ibex)

i use 3 layouts us, il, ru (phonetic) configured via gnome language
applet and set there system wide.
occasionally the system forgets my layouts and wont allow me to switch:

i'm not sure if this relevant, but for meunabling the firefox
modifications plugin cripples the google toolbar, and hind most of the
buttons in the customize menu. everything appear fine when disabling the
ubuntu firefox modifications plugin.
