I have this bug with all distros I have installed, all based on ubuntu 14.04
(standard ubuntu, ubuntu with gnome, kubuntu, xubuntu and linux mint with
cinnamon).

I have noticed that using last nvidia drivers (331.113) or legacy (304.125)
does not make much difference. Using instead the xorg nouveau drivers it is

This bug affect also me, I had a similar disk partition with dual boot and
after installing Ubuntu 12.10 I had no issue in executing Ubuntu, but I was
completely unable to start my Win7 system.

My laptop have an ATI card and an integrated Intel graphic. The issue seems
related to the switchable cards that are not supported by the ATI driver.

a USB WIFI (Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0ace:1211 ZyDAS 802.11b/g USB2 WiFi).
I have configured the KNetworkManager to start with the kde session, and
normally it works, asking me the kwallet password to retrive the wpa
password.
I have the same problem with a Siemens Gigaset PC Card 11 and Dapper. It
worked correctly with Breezy. I do not know which is the problem and
what to it is intended for needs info, but it could be useful see bug
#34752 too.
