I also would like to vote for this wishlist. I installed for the first
time Ubuntu (feisty) on another computer and everything was done with
the mouse easily, that is mp3 support (just by using totem), divx,
nvidia install using driver manager I think, samba sharing, ..
But in Kubuntu nothing
Weird I'm pretty sure I saw the message using feisty beta 5 that I had
to install samba and nfs. Even though we hear a lot about the easy
installation only Ubuntu gets the love, Kubuntu feels left out and I
never used Xubuntu so I don't know.

I have the same problem with kubuntu edgy, impossible to copy a dvd/cd .
To do it you have to manually click on the dvd on the desktop with the
right click and tell kde to unmount the disk, then it works, but this
not really user friendly, k3b should be able to somehow force the
unmount.

It seems that you're confusing M-x find-file and M-x load-file, the
former opens a file into Emacs and the latter loads a Lisp library
file...
As to why Emacs crashes when you use the menu or toolbar, I don't
know -- and the version you're using is quite old. Try upgrading to
a newer snapshot.
Could you give me more information about your environment?
Are you using a local or remote display? Which architecture is
this? What's your version of GTK+?

Then that's probably why, semantic has a bug which causes it to rearm
its idle timer recursively, causing the symptoms you're seeing.

appelé Makefile pour savoir comment
compiler un paquet. Il est la plupart du temps situé à la racine des
sources. Il faut que tu sois dans le répertoire qui contient le
Makefile pour taper make sans autre option.

? Installer une distribution plus sommaire ou carrément faite soi-même
permettrait de réduire la place occupée par cette partition. Et comme
on y entre avec un chroot, les deux systèmes sont indépendants, ça ne
devrait poser aucun problème non ?
