* Its original goal was to support XAPI on Citrix XenServer, in versions of
XenServer before OVS was integrated. We implemented exactly the feature set
required for that. There could easily be important omissions.

brcompatd isn't in the upstream Debian version of the package because we
don't want to encourage people to use it.
It might make sense to add another binary package for ovs-brcompatd, if

A followup to Bill's comment above:
I upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 and dovecot failed to start, claiming to
have problems with the sieve configuration in line 691. After some
fooling around, I found Bill's comment above, and decided to backup the
existing dovecot.conf and replace it with a new

Reboot was required.
Package removals, re-installations, killall -9 stop,
total removal of /var/lib/mysql.

Problems seemed to happen more when re-installing when /var/lib/mysql

libsnmp-base is installed by default (required by hplip, which ubuntu-
desktop recommends) and depends on gawk. But the base system already
has an awk implementation (mawk) and nowhere in this package is gawk
specifically required - only generic awk is ever used. (Actually,
I also just ran IOmeter on the Windows guest again, against both IDE and
SCSI emulation, against guest discs hosted on the mdraid5 with lvm, as well
as a single SATA2 7500RPM disc. Identical results against both targets.

Ubuntu configures sets the hostname in /etc/hosts and assigns it to
127.0.1.1:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.1.1 server.example.com server
The dhcpd server picks this up and sends it as primary DNS server

Samba share).

I originally submitted this as a bug because I'm pretty sure the login
window process wasn't necessary in Gutsy, but is now required in
Hardy/Intrepid.
I still feel that this process needs attention, or at least some
official documentation that can be Google'd. Anyone looking to enable
X11
I have solved my problem, and will post the steps here. I'm not sure if
this should be considered a 'wishlist' item, or if this is just how the
operating system is supposed to work -- but it's very frustrating that
this option is buried. I've posted the related steps to the Ubuntu

Thank you for the reply. I'm using Hardy/Intrepid as the guest, not the
host. So the scenario is you open a terminal on the Intrepid machine,
run 'ssh -X [EMAIL PROTECTED]' on the Intrepid machine, where 'host' is another
Unix server (in my case Solaris 10).
