of testing. Once it didn't wake up at all, so even switching to a
console screen wasn't possible anymore, but the other times the system

After suspend, my displayport-connected monitor will (most often) no
longer work at the native 1200x1080 resolution.

In console I uninstalled fglrx* and installed fglrx-update, but without
success. Ubuntu offers safe mode and crashes.
It is working with default open-source driver now.

Did not reoccur in current 13.10 and 13.04 when I last checked, so I
assume this can be closed. I will repoen it or create a new bug should

Christopher, I no longer have this laptop, however I was able to test it
with a friends' 5,2 machine on Live USB- the latest kernel in raring
works as does the trusty live cd with external vga.

Zwylicht , thank you for performing the requested test. Could you please
test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu so the
latest X.Org stack with nouveau and kernel may be tested? ISO images are

After upgrading kernel to http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v3.13-rc8-trusty/ everything works fine with HDMI.

The fragments you can see after the greeter exits and the session starts is the
root-pixmap, which is shown so that there's no flickering until (in Xubuntu's
case) xfdesktop/xfwm4 starts.
However, in the case of nouveau, it doesn't seem to make matters any better.
