The GPS add on for the Victor Reader will cost more than $300 with $20 map updates if Humanware charges the same as it did for updates to its previous GPS product. That's a bargain considering the price of Nearby Explorer, which is under $100. Aph is testing maps outside North America so those

Both the Seeing Eye GPS app and Nearby Explorer will do turn by turn directions from point A to point B and give you more information along the way. Both are designed for the blind. Google Maps and Apple Maps work well, but they won't tell you, for example, if you are coming up to a 4-way or

Blind Square is not strictly speaking a GPS app. It does not do turn-by-turn directions. But, once you find the point of interest you want, Blind Square can launch Google maps, Apple Maps, or several paid GPS apps. If all you want is the turn-by-turn directions, Google Maps does a fine job.

I agree Kelly; I just wish you had the option of using "up to the minute" online maps when you had a cell data (and if you wanted to spend for the connection time). MS MapPoint, when I was programming using it, was great for this ... much like Waze. BTW, those who are in the know re Humanware

Waze uses a really great feature, where they get info from current users of their app as to what roads they are traveling on and how fast they are moving (it's called "crowd sourcing"). This is what lets it give you very accurate expected travel times for any route; it takes into consideration

In addition to Kim’s “correct” answer, thought I’d suggest that you try hooking up your card to ApplePay, which would give you both the use of ApplePay and then via it, use of Uber. I’ve used ApplePay on a few ocasions, and it’s very nice, and the merchants don’t get to see your credit card
