Hi everybody who lives in the states. I go to Honduras to spin at a annual event called the sunjam. My problem is that there is no 1200 to get a hold of in Honduras and each year we have to FedEx a pair down there. Now the promoter like to buy some equipment. new DANIEL WANG on ENVIRON
i tried to send this to the list last week, but i don't think it went through...apologies if you've already received it. Forwarded message: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We at Environ are extremely proud to present Daniel Wang's new CD album, "IDEALISM" (ENVCD001) - a deep and gorgeous labor of love that will hypediehard Daniel Wang and Balihu fans and undoubtedly open up a new album-oriented audience to his work. This tight collection manages to sum up his sonic evolution while offering aglimpse into the future with his new tracks and production style. Opening up with the spectacular vocoded intro of "Let's Go To Mars," the album stays in touch with Daniel's fascination with the dancefloor and dubbed-out funk, disco, techno and jazz. Rare tracks like "Rings of Saturn" (only 150 whitelabels were distributed to DJs) and brand-new gems such as "Ambiguity" showcase the spaced, sweaty pulses that made his 12"s into club DJ's crateclassics. On the flip, the acid-reggae epic "Islands" or his sci-fi Theremin cover of jazz standard "Misty" makes this an ideal listening album. "Coming on like Moroder, disco, house and modern electronica going 12 rounds at the Paradise Garage." -Jockey Slut "Simultaneously retro and innovative...evokes Noel Coward and Cole Porter sipping cocktails on another planet." -Paper Magazine "Humorous and delightful fantasies of disco fever with synthesizers and a Theremin." -LeMonde, France OUT NEXT ON ENVIRON: ENV012 Morgan Geist 12" ENV013 Metro Area 4 12" ENV014 Daniel Wang 12" environ| p/f +1.718.858.5008 244 court street #2F | altfax +1.507.260.3467 brooklyn NY 11201 USA | email [EMAIL PROTECTED] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - __ __ Do You Yahoo!? LAST AUX 88 PERFORMANCE EVER
I have just received news from Aux 88 that their perfromance at ORIGINS this Saturday will be their last performance ever as Aux 88. They are going to continue to do other projects, but this Saturday will be the final time you can see them as Aux 88. They will also be performing 17 new tracks, so even if you are tired from going all night with Richie and Clark on Friday make sure to sleep in and come out to the Majestic on Saturday for a memorable event. Again the info is... ORIGINS Afrika Bambaataa Aux 88 Tony Touch Majestic Theater 10 pm - 4 am Tickets: $15 in advance; $20 at the door; $25 after midnight -Rachael

*REPOST* T-SHIRT UPDATE
For those who may have missed this message during the weekend: Hi everyone, As promised, here is the latest news on the 313 T Shirt. I have worked to put a time line together that includes 3 weeks for those who wish to submit new designs or re submit previous ones from last year. There will then be a week for online voting. At the end of the week the winning design will go into production and be ready for DEMF on Memorial Day. The winner of the contest will of course be awarded with a free shirt. I have worked out a deal where the shirts will be sold at Record Time in Detroit. This will allow you to purchase the shirts three ways: first you will be able to order online and have them sent to you, second they will be available at the store for pick up before the festival weekend(I would like them to get to the store as early as possible), third they will be available for sale AT DEMF in the Record Time booth. The shirts will be available in a range of sizes. Here are the important dates to remember for those wanting to enter the contest. Contest begins March 17th Submissions are due by Friday April 6th at midnight Voting will take place from Monday April 9th - Friday April 13th. The winner will be announced on Monday April 16th All the designs will posted on a web site. I'll post the link as we get to the end of the submission phase. Everyone on the list is encouraged to vote as the winning design will represent the list at the festival. The contest is open for everyone on the list to enter. In order to do so, email me privately and I will send you further details about submitting and a shirt template. I ask that you do this so I can keep track of who has entered and I will send out reminders as the closing dates approach(we're all procrastinators at heart). Hope this contest adds to the anticipation of DEMF 2001 and I hope to hear from many of you regarding submitting. dave pinter

His web site Tronic is very good - I forget the address but it is maybe some variation of Tronic Records and may show up on Yahoo. He has a new mixed-CD out soon of tech-house (his first actually!) also through Tronic and it will be distributed by various other companies (Hardware in Australia). He actually completed it while in Melbourne this last summer. I think he has had a residency at Motor for a while? He now lives in NY. He used to be on the list - he may even be back? >Maybe I asked about this before, but ... >does anyone know where I can find Christian Smith dj >mixes online or any other info > >I did hear when he played in detroit only 20 people >came to see him...why? >I have never heard him dj before so curious..
