It finds its symmetry with the number five in the number twenty-eight. Twenty-eight is also the number of days of the average female menstruation cycle and the length of the moon's cycle. Numbers two and three form the number twenty-three which is the number of chromosomes we receive from both our parents. James Joyce's novel 'Portrait of an Artist' has five chapters and 'Ulysseys' eighteen. Notice the symmetry with the number twenty-three. However, 'Finnegan's Wake' has only seventeen chapters. If we open the number seventeen, like we did with the number twenty-three, we get the number eight. Two to the power of three is eight. Symmetry is maintained. Robert Heinlein begins the second chapter in his novel 'The Puppet Master' with the words '23hours and 17minutes ago, a flying saucer landed in Iowa..' The symmetry doesn't end there. Eight times five is fourty; the number of days Jesus spent in the desert, the number of Ali Baba's thieves and the size of our solar system is approximately fourty astronomical units. In the year 1723 mr Adam Smith was born and the Anderson's Constitution for the Freemason's was published. Entitled Techno: Detroit's Gift to the World, the 1,900-square-foot display will take visitors through the 20-year history of techno, its underground beginnings, the explosion in European interest and the advent of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000 and the resulting popular awareness of the music in the city where it was born http://www.detnews.com/2003/entertainment/0301/16/c01-61128.htm ab

Re: (313) tony ollivierra on dynamite soul
anyone heard it, whats it like? You're talking about 'Heat Seekers' (DS-701)? I've got it and it's not bad, not as good as his Ibex releases on Planet E though. He also did a couple of 12s for Intangible under the name DJ Slym Fas - I have 'Luv Music' which is pretty good. Overall the Dynamite Joint release is probably the one I listen to least out of all the Tony Olliviera stuff I have - the production doesn't quite cut it IMHO... Cheers, Tom PS: reply to your other (private) mail coming up JT!
Re: (313) tony ollivierra on dynamite soul (2)
anyone heard it, whats it like? Just checked out Submerge and I guess you're asking about the one they have listed (DS-702)? In which case, I in fact haven't heard it, but would be interested to check it out... :) Cheers, Tom

(313) altern 8 samples - the resurection
Hi, I will try to re-formulate my question: Which are the original songs sampled (stolen, actually) by Altern-8 in the Overload (1st) EP, specially in tracks Move My Body and Real Time Status??? Movy My Body does not sample the Marshall Jefferson's Move My Body I know, but a different (mix?) early Chicago house with female vocals saying (pls, forgive my bad memory for lyrics): When the music is right, I love to move my body Anyone knows which is the original??? The bbrr sound used by A8 also comes from the same house track. I have no clue about Real Time Status, but the prominent/high keyboard seems to be another Chicago house ... Cheers, Guilherme

(313) Radio show
Hi folks, Just a heads up (very late, I know) to say that I'm doing an interview and playing a short (20 minute) set tonight on a show called Dance Under the Blue Moon on Radio Fritz in Berlin. If you're in Germany, I think this plays nationwide (or maybe not...I'm kinda clueless) and if you're not in Germany it appears to stream on the web via RealAudio: http://www.fritz.de/ -- Dennis DeSantis www.dennisdesantis.com
