(313) m2 radio
M2 radio will be broadcast both saturday and sunday this week. Saturday will feature myself, Tres Lucitte, and Dan Lucas tagging on three turntables, playing various types of techno. Sunday will feature Dollo's Keith Cha playing a variety of whatever he feels like playing: techno, house, experimental. As always, connection info is found at www.brownnoteproductions.com and the only requirement is winamp. People have said they have been having troubles connecting at times, and I think we've straightened out our end the best we can, but our broadcast software clearly states that those trying to connect behind firewalls may experience difficulty. Both broadcasts, saturday and sunday, will take place at 7:00 pm EST, and will end around 9:00 or later. Thanks to all of our listeners, -Andy
Re: (313) DVD from Detroit Museum...
I have it. Not enlightening. Good first portion are small soundbytes from various djs, with more in depth interviews later on. The soundbytes are repeated in the interviews, so at first viewing you think you've already seen this part and it's being repeated. Personal stories from several djs. What I liked best were the small vignettes with Theo Parrish and Stacey Pullen. Theo is in Detroit with the Wyland mural behind him. During Atkins and May's interviews there a lot of shots of Detroit which is cool, but nothing enlightening like I said. Haven't checked out the how to dj disc yet. Neptune Records had it for $24.99, Record Time $29.99, and the Detroit Historical Museum for $34.95. I am also interested in a review before I drop $30 on it... -Original Message- From: ryan burns [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 30, 2003 9:45 PM To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) DVD from Detroit Museum... has anyone seen it??? good. bad??? Re: (313) tune id (metro area?)
haven't heard the mix but sounds very much like Alphonze Mouzon/Mouzon's electric Band - Everybody get down (1979) on Vanguard sounds like something Metro Area would play too it's around - but fairly rare very nice though.one of the few decent uses of the sax in contemporary dance music IMHO ;) rc on 2/2/03 4:49 AM, Alex Bates at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: ok i have an mp3 entitled 'muira - metro area' but it certainly is not this track, although it does sound kid of electro and may well be metro area... the female vocal goes : you gotta dance, move on get on up get on up get on up and boogie down im desparate for this tune... any ideas? i have mp3 to send if anyone is interested in doing some 5 star tune id-ing for me! ab
