(313) alton miller - stories of bohamia

2003-10-03 Thread Maarten Baute
Anyone heard this new alton miller album yet?
I´ve heard some samples.. and I think there are a bit too much downtempo
tracks on it... but overall I´m left with a good feeling about this one.

Nice deep detroit house.

Cheers,
Maarten - http://www.morthenkiang.com/

remember this?

http://www.earthstation5.com

well now have a look at this:

http://lists.netsys.com/pipermail/full-disclosure/2003-October/011339.html

the software can apparently access and delete any file on your system

the theory that the ES5 people are in league with the RIAA/MPAA is an
intersting one

have a good weekend folks

RE: (313) Wire to Wire

2003-10-03 Thread Mann, Ravinder [CCS]
Have I slept on all the talk about Wire To Wire on the list ?

Got my hands on it yesterday and it is truly sublime... A couple of great
downtempto spacey tracks...a couple of nice minimal hood style with his own
brand of machine talk... A few with nice hip hop beats and electronica over
the top...some sort harpy thing flows throughout most of the tracks...nice
touch.

Im not a writer but thats my take on it.

Cheers.

Rav

Been thinking abt this too recently. Decided that from now on, if I really
*really* like something, I ought to buy another copy partly as insurance,
partly as it's likely I could possibly sell at a useful profit (useful for
more records! ;P ) at a later date, and partly as sometimes, it's good to
actually to just *give* someone a brilliant record.

So far I've managed to get second copies of: 'Living Condition' Cutty Ranks
(Original Mix)
   'Brand New Day'
Pavel Kostiuk
   'Welcome To The
World' Somatik
   'Tempest'
Kabuki

I'd like to do the same for 'Omega' by Rob Hood (the ltd edition 12") but
the starting price is too high to start with and anyway, in my view whilst
it's good, 'Omega' is not that special compared with any of the tracks on
the 'Wire To Wire' LP. Strange(ly democratic move!)

2003-10-03 Thread scotto
traded jackass and mule on dust tracks for nitzer ebb's work that body
12" and adults new 2x12
really wanted the nitzer ebb and i had two copies of the jackass/mule. but i
had lost one somewhere. so i decided to make the trade and the then found
the my dup.

i think the person just threw in the adult. record becuse i like electro,
but i dont really like it, its to whinny. but i really wanted that nitzer
ebb.

but i did have dup's of the record and figured the other would turn up(but
i was willing to part if it did not).
it is also the wrong type of record to play doubles with. the second one
was a gift. so what was i going to do when they gave it to me say thanks
good you have taste but i already own it. then stick my tounge out.
the person who wanted it bugged me for about 2 month's to give her my
extra copy of the "pink record". i was thinking then i might play doubles of
it. then i lost one
