the vinyl release of chaotic nation is crap quality. i doubt buying a copy of the vinly or getting another recording would get you a better quality file than the mp3 you have. i'venever heard of any cd release. james www.jbucknell.com /0 [EMAIL PROTECTED] mi.netTo 313@hyperreal.org 25/04/04 11:44 PM cc Subject (313) steve poindexter track info I have this mp3 that I want to start adding to mixes (I use a laptop and a midi controller with traktor) called: Steve Poindexter - Chaotic Nation EP - A3 - Mental Problems (bonus track), 1991 Chicago Underground Reco.mp3 is this on CD anywhere? I'd like to replace my MP3 with a (hopefully) better quality one, and without a turntable, my only hope would be to find it on CD. if I cant find it on CD, I will resort to begging listmembers with the record to rip me a good copy and I guess I'll deal (or get dealt with :) by steve poindexter later :) besides, something tells me the vinyl would be both hard to find and expensive that being said, if anyone has a turntable for sale cheap (just for listening, not DJing) let me know I cant see spending 350 on a 1200 to rip the odd vinyl-only releases to my laptop -Joe ForwardSourceID:NTB7FE
RE: (313) Omar S
Yeh, I picked up that DJ Genesis Tonight-Tribute to Betty over the weekend. Very nice. The Omar S 2.5 on the back is strange though--Basic Channel edit w/ muted vocal. Also found a nice mix of all of these records (2, 2.5, 3 Tonight by DJ Genesis) at Spirit of House today. See the WMC 2004 - Part 6 - Detroit and Chicago United Mix - by Michael Fossati. If I'm not mistaken the 2500 Club is on the corner of Park and Henry--used to the Park Henry Bar--in the South end of the Cass Corridor, what the yuppies like to call Mid-Town. (313) Movement Announcement
I just found out that there will be a full Movement line-up announcement 11 May with a prelim press release before that.
Re: (313) Movement Thoughts
I don't think so. I understand the frustration but... It's not like people are buying tickets in advance. And even people from os are going for a fest, not a particular act. Putting on a festival in Detroit is super hard, I can se ethat. There is no money coming from the city of Detroit, even the African American museum is in huge debt. I mean in places like here there are government resources available for things like electronic festivals and even then people don't get it together! I don't think anyone knows just how periously close the fest came to not happening last year and it was only because D May put money into it that it was saved. Plus you had all these talented people from Detroit and elsewhere investing their time into it for the love not the money. I mean I am hanging for the line-up too but I see the challenges.
