Heys Guys, Sorry - a bit off topic post (although I am looking for 313 style stuff) :) Just looking for a few suggestions on places to check out (record shops/club nights/any other cool happenings) for mid September? I'm planning a little trip across the pond quite possibly from the 9th to the 23rd. I'll mainly be in London, but I might travel outside a bit and might whip over to Amsterdam for one weekend. Of course if you guys know of any promoters/clubs that might be interested in booking a wandering Canadian DJ that would be cool too! Please reply off-list as I wouldn't want to upset our fellow 313 brethren! :) Cheers! I tried to say that it looked like it wasn't a Detroit Los Hermanos record and that people use same names all the time. Yes that isn't nice, some where in the mid-ninties i recorded some stuff for Djax under the name of Dash, 2 or 3 years later a Tresor Dj called Dash showed up... well sh*t happens :) Just recently I-F stopped his residency at club Nitsche (SP?) in Barcelona and a few months later another DJ from that club starts playing under the name of Ferenc and recording records, lame thing to do but hey it happens and isn't there a canadian guy who makes techno under a name that looks a lot like Derrick May? some lovely vinyl arrived with the postie this morning, initial thoughts: Bastedos 001 + 002 Nice long edits of Sylvester 'Ring of Gold' and Yello's 'Bostich' (Bastedos 001), and Prince's 'America' and Tantra's 'Hills'. OK so the edit hype is dying down now (hmmm or is it?) but i like the way these are done. Remove all the noodly bits and get more of a groove on. Rako Dragonbreath - Jumpin 2 Conclusions ep - Black Label Wicked wicked modern electrofunk. Best thing I've heard yet on BL. 6 cuts, the title track with a great vocal probs the pick of the bunch, Defeckt and Channel a close epic slow driving second. Blake Baxter - Poetry and Rhythm - Mix Two Abe Duque produced tracks, one a cover of What's Going On and the other a great house track (Forbidden Fruit) with the 'Blake 4 Love' bit halfway through, but not before he's described his perfect woman. Ace. Crown Prince of Sextronica? :) Abe Duque/ Blake baxter - What Happened? - Abe Duque 7 We've talked about this before, 3 tracks, two acid house (one of them the title track, hmm ok it's more dbx style than acid) and a more straightforward house track on the flip (Disco Nites). All with Blake's excellent vocals. Just been repressed so get em while u still can.

just picked up a few items last night Amplified Orchestra vs Dexter - "Funk Force/2 Brownies & a Bassline" on Clone - apparently only 500 copies? Doesn't matter, it's the best electrofunk I've heard in ages (from outside Detroit) it's a brilliant 12 that. the vocal mix of 'Getting It' is one of my fave tunes at the mo. i think it recently got repressed. so the 500 probs refers to the first run. robin...
