2004-10-24 Thread ani
i love the basement, it's dark and has the most beautiful wood
panelling(?)
the sound is good, and the bartenders pour good drinks.

i saw carl craig, maurizio dami, juan atkins, and dez there so far.
lots of good names going through that place. recommended.

(313) Sonic Groove is closed!

2004-10-24 Thread Anton Banks \(313\)
I can't believe that I'm writing this. Sonic Groove closed their doors
tonight. As fate would have it, I found myself being one of the last people
in the store. Apparently, their current inventory will be sold via their
website. After that, they're done...

I walked in around 2 to the most beautiful sight in the world-- a
roomful of clubbers jacking to Land of Confusion by Armando. He

Farley Jackmaster Funk acid vocal track. Then Farley himself got on,
announced that it was his track, and stopped it.

He then went into a speech about how we are all flowers, and we belong

He then played Flowers by Armand van Helden.

I then left.

This week's was called The Human Guinea Pig about a woman (now living
in Scotland) who survived Auchwitz, not before being experimented on by
Mengele, who appeared to be working in association with a company
called FARBEN, which is a pretty direct descendant of today's Bayer AG.
