Re: (313) Another Master At Work
A big part of the reason I make the effort to be the Weird Old Guy Scenester, is that I've gotten to watch people like Terrence Parker, DJ Vadim, Cut Chemist and DJ Newmark up close doing this kind of magic. And while he doesn't scratch, Jeff Mills on the decks up close is unbelievable. His hands move so quick you think you're watching sped up video, and the whole time from the waist down, he's jacking. and Claude Young? Fuggedaboutit. As long as we're on the subject of beatboxing, the MTV beatbox commercial is the sh*t: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhFEhcD-0dQ The little girl with the ferret rules.

Well it won't pass multipart mime, but links work fine. PS spot the HTML error! Re: (313) Another Master At Work
Terrence and Claude are bang on it, I could watch them for hours, which I find odd because I've never been much of a spotter but there's something about the way they lock things down and get lost in the music. I know a lot of people say they are DJ's for DJ's but I completely disagree with that as well. How good would 4 decks and two mixers and Claude vs Terrence be :) What Jeff does with his hands is strange, it's like he's constantly checking and re-checking everything, he kinda flutters over the mixer... m On 12 Jul 2006, at 00:13, kent williams wrote: A big part of the reason I make the effort to be the Weird Old Guy Scenester, is that I've gotten to watch people like Terrence Parker, DJ Vadim, Cut Chemist and DJ Newmark up close doing this kind of magic. with ya there Martin both superb Yeah Jeff reminds me of a Humming bird, he hands flutter but at like breakneck speed, its amazing - David Attenbrough should do a programme on him then Joe Bloggs would see what the fuss is all about :) Terrence and Claude are bang on it, I could watch them for hours, which I find odd because I've never been much of a spotter but there's something about the way they lock things down and get lost in the music. Re: (313) did anyone go to.....
Talking of Los Hermanos they were playing at T in the Park on Sunday there are meant to be sets online here http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/musicscotland/tinthepark/ but I cant see any of the dance acts at the moment May and Mills were playing the Slam tent as well - might be worth checking to see if any of the sets come online. I havnt spoken to anyone who went so cant say if they were any good or not Cheers BT Nope, but I caught Los Hermanos, Sleeparchive and DJ S2 at Fabric on Saturday. Los Hermanos were wicked. When I was in Berlin in September I only got to catch the last three tracks, so was really happy to see the whole show, even if the crowd was quite Fabric-y. They really went for it live and they played really well as a band. I also had a couple of friends visiting from Detroit, who were really happy to see these guys in London. They really enjoyed it as well. I only caught a bit of S2 before-hand. He was good, and very tight in the mix, but I was pretty exhausted, so I only checked him for a bit. Sleeparchive was good, but I didn't hear that wicked new song of his that he played at the last Lost, which is doope! Tristan === [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.phonopsia.co.uk

Hey all I'm looking for articles/interviews where definitions/explanations of future jazz/broken beat is discussed. Thinking along the lines of state of mind instead of sound of the music type explanations. I've looked through my bookmarks but can't seem to locate the webpages that I've seen before. help? MEK
