RE: (313) Ben Sims hiphopfunkdiscosoulelectro mix up
I can't believe more people haven't posted about this mix. It is, for me, one of the highlights of an already outstanding musical year. I have been caning this on my way to work and back all week and still loving it. Outstanding. (313) Two very nice records with 8th-note hats
I absolutely love predominant shaker-esque 8th-note hats, which tend to remind me of Stetsasonic's Talkin' All That Jazz or Slick Rick's Gangsta's Fairytale. It just so happens that this week I bought two records that I don't recall being discussed here which both offer this same satisfaction. The first is Chateau Flight's Baroque (or Baccula on the flip), the second is Jacek Sienkiewicz feat. Marek Raczkowski's Ride. I'm sure the former is on everyone's radar per its inclusion on the Innervisions imprint, but the latter seems to elude almost everyone in perpetuity. Anyway... it works for me rather well. Support Polish techno. Look at the new Recognition EP as a whole and you have a pretty strong departure from the Sienkiewicz norm, but look at it as its own self-contained recording and you see an attempt to merge two rather different styles. These styles are tamed on Ride quite severely compared to the rest, but the merger of these styles begged for someone to take charge. Unfortunately it only ever happened on this one track. The other three all promise loads and wind up uncontrolled. Ride alone successfully points to the strange space between Saunderson and Hood which to my ears has not yet been properly explored, and has lots of potential for future experimentation. I hope this doesn't go unnoticed. One more time, that's Recognition 019. Tristan === http://www.phonopsia.co.uk [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Thanks for the comment. I forwarded you comments to the technical staf of vpro digital who uploaded the mp3's for this dwnld. We don't do downloads that often, all audio on my weblog and 3voor12 is in real audio stream. This was a very particular project we don't do every time ;) Well, i a sure we have a follow up. Work on an easyer way to dwnld the next release :) Hopefully you'll manage to put all tracks on the original 1-16. I had a lot of work to sort it out;) aida -Original Message- From: J.T. (313) foo_discogs, a tagger plugin for foobar2000
Hi people, I've been developping a plugin for the foobar2k audio player (http://www.foobar2000.org/). I thought this could be of interest to some of you. Features: - tag files using discog data. Retrieve more info than most taggers. Goes to extra length to make sure retrieved data is correct and well formatted - retrieve all available album art - flexible tag mapping allows you to write only what you want where you want - use of meta data in tags to display artist / label / release discogs www page - able to later update specified tags and update album art (useful to update rating and fetch new art) Current version: 0.25 Download: http://bubbleguuum.free.fr/foo_discogs/foo_discogs_0.25.zip Some needed DLLs if you don't have them (or too old versions): http://bubbleguuum.free.fr/foo_discogs/libcurl.zip.
