(313) New Jamal Moss
A review of some records will follow next week but just a headsup on that new Hieroglyphic Being 12 on Apnea. Now, for me, Mr. Moss gets it right maybe 1/3 of the time (in fact a few of my fave artists are like this). The track I've got enough love 4 the 2 of us is one of those times (Like Sun God's Bird Songs or Analog Codes). The summer is slow for new music so check it folks! robin...

Re: (313) UR in New York - anyone going?
Sweeet! Been feeling very down about new york nightlife. Just tried to see Derrick Carter at Love last weekend, instead to find presumably some local poorly playing deeply uninspiring house. After charging 15 on prepaid tickets and $25 at the door after 11pm, I would have thought a better evening would be ahead. I get the feeling new york locals are a bit too into themselves instead of being into setting a proper night, or maybe I am just getting too old and having a headliner start after 3am sounds like a recipe for a hangover of hangovers and a ruined weekend of sleeping till 2am. I guess my raving days are over. should have warned you about Love. sick booth + sound system but inversely proportionate to the vibe. there is a long list of ex-party throwers at Love that will ultimately be the downfall of the place. I will never go back. in regards to the way they run things.. a place done right, like Cielo, does the standard 10-4 thing.. local warmups early, headliner around 12:30-2 and someone closing out the night. Love will start late and go late. people go there when they want to keep going. and it's built for that kind. after going out from 1991-now I can say I am indeed too old for that sort of thing. if it's consistency, go to Cielo, Sullivan Room, Element, Galapagos on Fridays... check rhythmism.com for more info. +odd -- On Aug 9, 2007, at 10:36 AM, Michael Kuszynski wrote: Sweeet! Re: (313) UR in New York - anyone going?
Last time I was at Love I felt like I was in a room full of fresh first year college students (freshman..?)... and there were about 5 other people there who were actually NOT students... and I think 1/2 the kids were mixing disco biscuits with alcohol and just totoally trashed... it was a one of the breakbeat science parties. I definitely felt too old. Wicked sound system though. And I like the venue although I shudder at the thought of the cleaniness of the chill out room [for those who haven't been there, animal plush fluff with a lot of nooks and crannies, complete with waterfall] On 8/9/07, Todd Sines [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: should have warned you about Love. sick booth + sound system but inversely proportionate to the vibe. there is a long list of ex-party throwers at Love that will ultimately be the downfall of the place. (313) Baltimore - D.C.?
Does anyone know where underground dance music of any kind can be heard between Aug. 24 - Sept. 3? As usual, if I were going to be in the D on these weekends I wouldn't even know what to do with myself there's so much happening. This makes me think I'm not looking in the right places for my info. Is there anything like dluv or rhythmism.com site for Balt/DC? I've been checking fusicology.com -- it covers more genres of underground music than dluv -- but few goings on in Balt/DC. There's no question in my mind that Detroit's the hippest city on the planet ;-) but there's got to be some soul out there in the nation's capitol or B-town one. OK, before I send off this obnoxious email, I wanted to point out some cool pics from the 2nd annual house music picnic on Belle Isle a couple weeks back -- look at detroitfashionpages.com under the (not so politically correct) title you've been shot. My reflections on the picnic were pretty much the same as those on the submerge site and Aaron Carl's blog. I don't think it will supplant the DEMF any time soon but it certainly was a great experience and we sure could use a lot more events like this to keep us sane around here. Peace. Scott Ellis

So is soulseeX. soulseeX also is only up to 1.0 beta 6 and its last beta was back in 2005 (versus 2006 for solarseek): http://chris.schleifer.net/ssX/downloads/ There's are some builds available as well, but they aren't considered gold version either.
