(313) (OT) In-ear headphone advice
Hello, I need some in-ear headphones to replace some old ones which keep dying on me. I don't want to go too crazy - £80 tops. There are some Shure and Etymotic headphones available in that price range. Does anyone have any recommendations. They need to be in-ear so I can run with them etc. I wouldn't mind going over budget if they sound good AND last more than a year (unlike the other Sony P.o.S ones I had...). Any help would be welcome. Cheers, N
RE: (313) (OT) In-ear headphone advice
I would recommend any of the Shure's (I use E2cs) but the fact is, I do get through a pair every 9-months on average. Whether that's due to my greater-than-normal carelessness or the fact that they're not built to last much longer, I'm not sure. But I have had 3 or 4 pairs so far. I'd be interested in a tough-as-nails pair that high audio quality too ... -Original Message- From: Nik Stoltzman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 19 September 2007 14:29 To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: (313) (OT) In-ear headphone advice Hello, I need some in-ear headphones to replace some old ones which keep dying on me. Re: (313) (OT) In-ear headphone advice
I have some E2cs. The sound is nice but I use my Sennheiser cx300s (be careful to get genune ones) much much more as the Shures are incredibly tricky to install in your ear (and get them in and out again if anyone talks to you) The Sennheiser's sound is not that different to the e2c. robin... How about M-Audio earphones? http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.list&ID=Earphones The IE-10's should be in your price range, although the IE-30's are definitely better quality. Hannah got some of the Sennheiser cx300s recently which I had to give a go. They're far superior to the Sonys I think, and the fit seems to be more universally friendly. Think I'm gonna get me some. Probably just a gimic but you can get them in eco-friendly(er) packaging if you order from Amazon. Even if it is a gimic, it's the kind of direction I'd like to support when slapping down cash. Re: (313) a short luciano review
It's related to the Romanian residents @ DC-10 actually. There's 2 versions one called the Tak-su edit and Rhadoo has done an edit of it as well. Luciano is looping the bits of the vocal over it the Rhadoo edit. Sounded insane when he did it at DEMF. It should be getting a release on a white label near you. Thanks, Greg. My view is that Richie is coming from the right place on this. And as he said at the end carbon offsets aren't the place to stop, it's a place to step forward from. In my non-music life I'm the chair of the Sierra Club global warming & energy committee. We actually looked recently at a bunch of the carbon offset outfits. None of them are perfect; Atmosfair is one of the better ones. As they say on that side of the Atlantic, it is still early days for all of this. You can decide it's cynical and hate on Richie or anyone else, but here's the real point: if you think global warming is a problem, you have to do your research, figure out what really matters about all this to you and "drop the needle on the record." There's no better time to start than now and everyone can do something that means something. At moments like this here's what I always come back to: Brothers and sisters, the time has come for each and every one of you to decide whether you are gonna be the problem, or whether you are gonna be the solution. You must choose, brothers, you must choose. It takes 5 seconds, 5 seconds of decision. Five seconds to realize your purpose here on the planet. It takes 5 seconds to realize that it's time to move. It's time to get down with it. Brothers, it's time to testify and I want to know, Are you ready to testify? fh -- mail forwarded, original message follows -- To: 313@hyperreal.org From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: (313) Re: this MINUS climate change BS Date: Wed, 19 Sep 2007 21:56:03 -0700 /0 wrote: > did anyone else get this crap from minus, jumping on the "climate change" > bandwagon? > > someone needs to remind them that they dont really matter in the grand > scheme of things, and initiatives like this smack of over-inflated sense > of self-importance. http://www.detroitluv.com/index.php?topic=42712 > because Im sure playing 200 days a year on multi-thousand watt audio > systems is environmentally friendly... > > sounds like richie ate too many pills this weekend Apparently none of them were morning-after pills.
