Re: (313) Back by dope demand....or not.
Says on back of the album sleeve that its being distributed by neuton and clone, surely some copies will find its way to blackhole. m. [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Jason Welcome back! Walter Jones - the other one (not on Dow) was living in New Orleans last time we spoke and I haven't heard from him in a long while. Well, since Katrina actually - which worried me a bit but I have no idea where he is now or if he's ok. tried emailing him but never got a response MEK "Tristan Watkins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote on 04/15/2008 07:34:25 AM: > - Original Message - > From: "robin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "313 313" <313@hyperreal.org> > Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2008 1:19 PM > Subject: (313) Re: Walt J - was Re: Snoop > > > I seem to recall that there are two Walt Js. Re: (313) Snoop
Chad Hugo is well familiar with techno & house... even Kanye used to work with E-Smoove. Most of those R&B producers are familiar with house and dance. Lil' Jon too. That was the point when I got The Neptunes and them being 'techno'. -Original Message- From: Robert Taylor <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: 14 April 2008 14:42 To: Odeluga, Ken <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Dan Bean <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; robin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; 313 313 <313@hyperreal.org> Subject: RE: (313) Snoop He needs to go back to the 'heights' of Drop It Like It's Hot and Murder Was The Case Rob Taylor VT Librarian x8599 Hatch Desk x1088 VT Library Users' Guide -Original Message- From: Odeluga, Ken [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 14 April 2008 14:40 To: Robert Taylor; Dan Bean; robin; 313 313 Subject: RE: (313) Snoop It 'tries' but is not that good really. Not so much of Juan and Derrick in there but definitely a healthy dose of early eighties synthy RnB and a dash of Bernie Worrell. I even quite liked it at first, at least up to the bit where he raps, but I'm sick to death of it now since they play it about 5 times a day at work. -Original Message- From: robin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: 14 April 2008 14:12 To: 313 313 <313@hyperreal.org> Subject: (313) Snoop Anyone heard that new Snoop Dog record (Sensual Seduction)? Re: (313) Snoop
The album is pretty cool actually. It's largely produced by Teddy Riley and DJ Quik in conjunction with Snoop and has a vintage 80s feel. I have heard the single played out in housey clubs here. Even Moodymann has played Kanye's Flashlight - which features an Australian singer Connie Mitchell from Sneaky Sound System - which in some ways has the same feel. I seem to recall that there are two Walt Js. Or am I just confused? robin... I just pulled out the Project 625 record on DOW that this is from the other day, and at the time I made a Note To Self to ask if anyone knew what was up with Walt J. His discogs page lists a track on a Compost comp from 2005 with David Peoples called "starting again". Anyone know if he did? And is that track any good? Whassit like?
