Re: (313) Great T-Shirt Design
yeah, but the t-shirt wasn't made when Fehlmann made Tresor 003 or when Speedy J was making "schranz" and linking Craig to Hawtin and ending that legacy line at that clearly shows a bias toward the mnml take a look at the "top" of that tree - Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Basic Channel, Mike Ink, etc. it's clearly just one person's preference - which is toward the mnml side of things by the way, I didn't call it ALL mnml - I said it all filters down to it - as in as you get nearer the top it's mostly mnml artists (from what my prescription allows me to see) don't mess with me man, I'm drinking espresso! Re: (313) Great T-Shirt Design
I realize you're old and it's small print, but those leaf nodes are mostly anything but "mnml". Speedy J dipped into crummy schranz a lot (with Adam Beyer, another leaf node who might fall into the mnml camp), Brinkman was minimal before minimal was trendy so he doesn't count. The Orb may be on Kompakt but their sound is still anything but, and Thomas Fehlmann has cred back to Tresor 003. Aphex Twin? Joey Beltram? Jeff Mills? Dave Clarke? Really? I mean, yeah the T-shirt sucks (Carl Craig connected to Richie Hawtin and NOT Derrick May?!) but calling it all mnml just makes you look like you need glasses. (YEAH, I'm on my third cup of coffee today WHY DO YOU CARE?) Re: (313) Great T-Shirt Design
Yeah, it would be a great design if the "family" tree was made more accurate. But I guess with all of the incestuous crossing paths and confusions about who came first, it's a difficult undertaking to create a proper tree. The swirls on the design do well to kind-of hint at the crossovers though. RE: (313) classic mixtape tracklist help?
I think the first track on the Sista Spinsta mix might be from this Morgan Geist EP: http://www.discogs.com/release/4537 -Original Message- From: Frank Glazer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 10:59 PM To: list 313 Subject: (313) classic mixtape tracklist help? Today on my blog I posted a techno mixtape from 1996 that I was hoping people could help ID some tracks from http://www.deejaycountzero.com/blog/?p=63 I know this record gets played (both sides) but that's about it http://www.discogs.com/release/43993 -- peace, frank dj mix archive: http://www.deejaycountzero.com
RE: (313) classic mixtape tracklist help?
Thanks for that post Frank. I'm going to dig up my copy of Web Of Life and check Sista Spinsta's work again.
