A preview in Paris before ? http://www.myspace.com/weloveweloveart What a mission control center! Is he launching a space shuttle to Mars ? I hope that it will at least build some pretty fractals. Who knows i may be going to this party. — K* Le 10/03/2010 16:26, kent williams a écrit : Hah, so he's putting something together using Ableton Live, Max For Live AND Plogue Bidule. And he wants to control the video along with the audio. Nothing could ever go wrong with that -- outdoors, at night with possible weather complications, right? Was I the only one who got the e-mail from Minus saying Hey video artists -- send us your work to use in our live show! For free! ? I'm all for cutting edge technology and trying new things, but I'd have to say that very little that Richie does moves me. He puts together these complicated Inspector Gadget setups and then ... unleashes hours of boring techno too mnml for vowels. Give me a good DJ with a record box and a mixer with no effects any day. RE: (313) Croydon Is New Detroit
I think the article makes a number of useful comparisons but it wasn't intended to be taken too seriously. I find the various directions dubstep and UK house have taken extremely interesting though. Dubstep was so easily dismissed and pigeonholed as one dimensional and not particularly innovative but it has broadened and diversified in so many surprising directions. Also, many different genres and subgenres in the UK seem to have converged and ended up sounding very similar which I think ought to be noticed. (313) Octave One/MS-10
Octave One decided to mark 20 years of doing techno with a new label and, I think, a new website. A little curiously, they've named it after the catalogue number of their one and only release on Transmat, MS-10. We all know that release had a little more than history behind it, but the guys have taken the trouble to namecheck Derrick May on the website. I hope that any accompanying new material might show a little more edge than has been found in their material of late. http://430west.com/ms10/

That Direct Beat release is from Lorne Burden, the youngest of the Burden brothers (damn they are The Jacksons of techno ;-)). He also released as Kaotic Special Rhythm. I think that the new Octave One is banging, it reminded me a lot of Empower and their early work. On 12 mrt 2010, at 21:38, chesterm...@googlemail.com wrote: Who is munchman? (313) The Wild Kingdom Packs It In Early (Radio)
Tomorrow night's Wild Kingdom gets cut short by an hour due to the shift to Daylight Savings Time. I'm making use of what time is available by dropping some succulent tracks from a handful of classic CD compilations, featuring contributions from Photek, HIA, Eddie Fowlkes, Codlcut/Morris, Young American Primitive, C. C. (in 69 mode), B12, and others. Last week's Make It Fit set is documented at http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=34867 . Limited time archives for all shows on KFJC (including this one) are available at http://www.kfjc.org/broadcast_archives/ . These are rolling archives, available for two weeks after any given show. My shows are listed as Goodwrench. Send comments and suggestions to i...@kfjc.org . The Wild Kingdom airs on KFJC-FM 89.7, Saturday night/Sunday Morning, 12A-3A (8A-10A GMT). Potential listeners outside the San Francisco Bay area can find a webcast at http://www.kfjc.org/netcast/index.php . Present and past Wild Kingdom playlists are also archived at kfjc.org. You can also check out archived playlists from my first KFJC show Just Desserts that was on Fridays 10P-2A from 1992 through 1999. Archived playlists exist for that show starting from Fall 1995 to New Year's Eve 1999/2000, so you can see what what I'm up to these days is pretty much consistent with what I was up to all along. If you do tune in (especially via the web), please take a little time to let me know your locale. I'm also interested in promo music from all over and in promoting local (San Francisco Bay area) techno-type events. If you want to do some promotion for an event, contact the KFJC promotions department at pr...@kfjc.org to arrange ticket giveaways and/or to send information for inclusion in our concert outlook. Thanks to those who have sent promo music so far. Regards, Richard Hester Mr. Goodwrench The Wild Kingdom SU 12A-3A KFJC-FM 89.7, Los Altos Hills, California
