I went to the Jeff Mills Axis 20th anniversary party in Paris last week,

I'm still hammering the Silent Harbour album on Echocord by Conforce all

Techno-wise: Nihad Tule Bauri on Random Island (new-ish label by a

and muffly bangers.

Terrence Dixon's Population One on Harbor City Sorrow - uh!

Further cool releases: MPIA3 on RS, Karenn on Sheworks

I enjoyed my visit to hamburg very much and would probably pick it over Berlin
as far as a place to live. The Smallville guys are on point and would provide
enough of a scene for me through their shop and parties.

I def agree with you there. I do get frustrated most of the times but still
won't complain, could be much worse. It's a general worldwide phenomena and
I don't see things getting better in that sense, still I find that being a
rather small scene is what makes it special and I wouldn't change it for the
trendy Berlin. But then of course I always have to go there once in a while
 to get the otherworldly feel...

days in Hamburg. At least in terms of diversity.

Still hope for a change. But i guess the crowd in Hamburg has always been
 driven towards trends.

Thank you! I'm surprised you say that. I challenge you to tell me another
city holding a night called A TRIBUTE! drexciyan music all night long
like last September in Pudel. Besides, both Anthony Shakir and Mike
Huckaby have been constant guests here as well as other Chicago djs. In 2
weeks Mike is back again to do his Sun Ra set. And most of the new Detroit
music gets played through the Smallville shop. It's not the perfect
nightlife but believe me it is better than where I come from.

Anxiously awaiting a little box in the mail with that Hood 7.

Really enjoying Kate Simko's record on Leftroom with the Jem Cooke vocal.
Catchy little bouncy tune. Also digging the new Life Recorder on Aesthetic

on the list on and off since '97/'98 I think. Mainly lurking I guess. Made
the trip to Detroit back in 2001 and met a few folk. Like others have
mentioned, with family life etc I'm not so fussed about digging for tracks
or late nights. Not much happens out here in the Scottish Highlands anyway.
The recent RubaDub 20th party in Paisley was my 1st night out in the city
in years as my evenings are more like kids story, glass of laphroaig,

Two things off the top of my head.

This short-but-sweet 'Dark Music' set by Lukasz Hanusik:

I really like Delano's LP on Sushitech. Hoods Night time world 3 is very
impressive and beautifully mastered and cut. Steve Tang has been making some
really nice deep techno on several labels including his own Emphasis imprint.
liking stuff by Anton Zap, Vakula, Joey Anderson, Fred P too. The last
Deepchord LP on Soma is tasty too.
