that song makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. its like taking my 8 year
old half-sister to dairy queen and winning her a dipped cone in that

(313) (no subject)

2000-01-12 Thread AzureRecs
i posted this to other more ONtopic lists.. but no serious replies... so here
it is...

For Sale:

 Roland Alpha Juno 1 $250
Real Analogue with Digitally Controlled Oscilators (DCO's). Perfect
working condition. Sound is clean and low-noise, outputs are nice and loud
(unlike many used juno1's), all keys/buttons work perfectly. Alpha Dial is
nice and smooth. Cosmetically beautiful. The only possible gripe one could
have with this board is that the backlighting on the screen is somewhat faded
(about 30% less bright than normal). However, one does not need the
backlighting to use in normal, studio conditions... and there is ENOUGH
backlighting present for club conditions. These things fade on 14 year old
boards, its no surprise.Comes with manual and power cord.

Tubeworks 901 "Real Tube" tube distortion pedal. $65
I bought this to accompany the Juno1. It really makes a synth sing.
Also great to grit up your kick drum or make your cymbals scratchier.
Contains a real 12AX7A preamp tube for authentic warmth and grind. Three-band
EQ dials in perfect tone, Drive and Output controls handle the grind at any
volume. The EQ acts as an "isolator" in that if you turned down all 3
 bands... there would be NO sound what so ever. Dimensions: 3" h x 3 1/4" w x
5" l. This thing is built like a tank... not like BOSS or DOD pedals... this
one is STEEL. Excellent sound/cosmetic condition. Just a little loss of
yellow paint due to using it as an actual "stomp box". AC power chord is
 connected to unit.1/4" in/out.

(313) Mhonolink interview

2000-01-25 Thread AzureRecs
for all you Swedish techno heads...
there is an interview with Stockholm's Mhonolink (Coax, Countdown2000, Zync,
G-Force, Tritone) up at Azure Records
http://beam.to/azure

Mhonolink speaks on the saturation of music coming out of Sweden, as well as
the lack of a decent club/party scene to support it.

enjoy

(313) The Sound Of Ljubljana (Slovene Techno)

2000-02-17 Thread AzureRecs
while just surfin' around i discovered an excellent web page on the techno
scene in Slovenia

LOTS of real audio samples of a LOT of music that is coming out of Slovenia
that i had no idea about. (i'm an Umek fan, but i had no idea about labels
like Absense or Consumer Recreation)

http://megaklik.si/sol/index.html

i highly recomend it for people who dig the music of Umek, Indigo Kennedy,
Space DJz, and in general: hard edgy techno.

i'll put down a grand.

also - is this just a lathe for the manufacturing of acetates? or can you
also cut a LACQUER (mother) for the purpose of a Master to make plates and in
turn... press Records ?

if so.. i'll put a FEW grand down.i think we need a SUBterror lathe

you don't have to buy anything. Mills doesn't dominate the techno market, ya
know. i think in my entire record collection he holds 2 spots. (probably
like .001%) Partly because i've found stagnation in his music. Partly
because 99% of the his domestic vinyl releases are ALL MID-RANGE eq'd. and
Partly because i do not hero-worship him.

Mills Mills... blah blah. We all have our opinions. But i'd bet that the
majority of the people on this list have heard BETTER. (:insert
Groove 'La Chord here:)

DOOD! if you listen REAL close to the Vinyl single you can hear an
underlying track. sounds like the Dat was overdubbed. (or else i was just
royally stoned out of my goard)

and yes my ears Spooged. what a mess.

i actually really dig Wireless, and agree that the Drone Sector stuff is
underated (very much so in fact).

as far as the different opinions on Wireless...
it wouldn't be music if absolutely everyone thought it was remarkable.
Even the best shit has its bad reviews.

Luke: keep making MUSIC.
