the most ridiculous things about these rules are those having to do with restrictions concerning the number of times you play a certain artist, or label, or songs from an album. Re: [313] Global Underground series
I'd have to disagree. The Darren Emerson discs were about as close to the Sasha/Digweed demographic as Jeff Mills. The Emerson discs got a lot of flack from the GU massive because he didn't play "progressive". Its a straight up raw gritty house mix, with a dash of techno thrown in. Actually probably one of the only GU discs thats really worth the money. mad wax | the vocode project | http://www.vocode.com - Original Message - From: "Graeme Roche" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "tim maughan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "Bulger, Tim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "'Gwendal Cobert'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2001 11:48 AM Subject: Re: [313] Global Underground series > I bought the Darren Emerson one for the same reason (I'd run a mile from > most of the other DJs that do Global Underground CDs), and it was a kind of > disappointing. Re: [313] Global Underground series - HP-DJ mixing
however, if a DJ has proved that he/she can carry a live mix (such as hawtin, sasha, digweed, etc), I dont see a problem with a mix being touched up with pro-tools, especially as these CDs are mass produced and the artist in question I'm sure wants a "perfect" mix for the consumers purchasing it. Thats a big difference then say, a DJ releasing a demo tape/cd done in pro tools, getting booked and showing up without the skills to manage the turntables. mad wax | the vocode project | http://www.vocode.com - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2001 9:29 AM Subject: Re: [313] Global Underground series - HP-DJ mixing > Y'know, I have a real problem with mix CD's like that.
