Woo!

Love the new NWAQ and I'd lost track of Brendan's output (needs more
shameless self promotion maybe? :) ). That sounds very good too.

The Traxx M>O>S is a little disappointing to me. The second track is
nice enough but it's more soundalike tracks IMO. Not like the usual
M>O>S fayre.

cool it tom, i'm not comparing the legacy of the two, or the scope of
their production. i agree that his style is more limited in scope. i'm
just saying i personally enjoy his music as much or more than i enjoy
carl's

not really sure how you can compare the two as carl has done so much
varied stuff over such a long period of time. i really like his style,
but it is very limited in scope. not that he doesnt do alot of nice
things within that style, but to compare to C2 is just. i dont

since it was revealed that this album contains older joints, are they
all old or are there some newer ones in there? the last 2 definitely
had that old flavor

different, yeah, but i wouldn't agree with tom's description of clean
trying to sound dirty...they still have a great sound...i dunnoi
am a ridiculous nwaq fan...anybody on c-b-s can tell you that...every
time a nwaq track comes on i turn into a football fan...jumping
around, causing mischief...

shake said he likes nwaq...;)

my nwaq/154 top 5 in no particular order
1.trespassers
2.pyramid road
3.moon fm desire (was this ever on vinyl?)
4.energy
5.rox
6.the games that we play
7.themefrom..
8.fragments
9.mayflower
10.until my heart stops...

and on and on...i rate him as high or higher than carl craig really,
there is just something in his music, that intangible thing...i can
listen to his tracks on repeat and still be jumping up and down after
an hour

what about a nwaq/154 comp with all those hottest ones??...i would buy
it just to have them collected and distilled to all the killers, and i
even already have the 12"s...altho my "until my heart stops" skips :(

i do agree on the new material (last delsin ep, new religion) sounding
different

whether positive or negative

although it can't be for these ones
as the tracks on this album are all from the same mudgy period

go back to 2000 / 2002
yikes

cd version will have 5 tracks more,
2 unreleased

to my ears, there's a big difference. whereas the old joints sounded
messed up and cloudy, the new ones sound like he took a clean track
and tried to make it sound messed up and cloudy. not that they were
bad, but compared to the other NWA stuff, it just didnt feel right to

and regarding my criticism of traxx/jtc on m>o>s...i say only because
m>o>s is one of my very favorite labels, i hate to see it water down
it's uniqueness...but i haven't heard the tracks yet, maybe they have
the deep pads/strings and shivering tension that typifies the m>o>s
sound..but i doubt it, never heard them do stuff like that...traxx &
jtc don't hold a candle to aroy and nwaq in my book, even tho i do
like their stuff a lot sometimes...it's very macho, "rockin" kinda
stuff...but aroy can do what he wants :P

i like those 2 tracks best from the samples. the other ones all remind
me more of the most recent NWA 12" moreso than the stuff before, a
little too clean, the sounds are too distinct in the mix, etc.

and will check out this chymera guy, never heard of

a little disappointed to see traxx/jtc coming on m>o>s, unless it
sounds like m>o>s deep style...i am fans of those guys (sometimes),
but they already release chi style stuff on a few other labels, and
m>o>s had so much it's own vibe going on, really special...i hope it's
not stuff that might as well could have come on creme jak or

Lush stuff. Obviously influenced by the more lyrical moments of Octave

techno -- the immediately accessible harmonic progressions he uses get
his tracks into the boxes of some Progressive DJs, but to my ears at

being cheesy.

In other words, his stuff makes me feel good without feeling dirty afterwards.
