(313) Iridite Productions tonight on WZBC Test Pattern

2009-07-24 Thread Matt Kane's Brain
Tonight's Test Pattern will focus on Glasgow label Iridite
Productions. From their press package:

It’s all about the music

Iridite was founded on this principle in the summer of 1999. Dedicated
to producing quality electronic dance music, and acting as a platform
for both established and new artists whose work was yet to be heard.
This music would be unified not strictly by genre but by its quality,
the styles ranging from down tempo to Detroit inspired Techno, Dub and
House. Initially the aim was to bring together different artists on
each release, each track being the strongest possible selection by
that artist for the EP at that time, creating a fluid mix of high
quality music without trying to hard to be overtly eclectic.

From Matt:

I will be playing tracks from Iridite's entire 10-year history (well,
most of it). If time permits, I will also present some unreleased,
untitled tracks by unnamed artists coming up on future Iridite
releases.

Listen in tonight at 6PM (eastern US time) on 90.3 FM in the Boston
area or www.wzbc.org

(313) Iridite at Bleep with Orlando Voorn this Saturday - Stereo, Renfield Lane

2008-10-01 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hey everybody!

just a quick heads up to say that this weekend I'll be playing at the
regular Bleep night here in
Glasgow with a live set from Octogen (aka Marco Bernardi ,responsible
for Commuters' Computers on IR004 and also remixing Mixed Metaphors on
IR008) and.the long awaited return to Glasgow of Orlando Voorn.

He hasn't played in Glasgow for 7 years and now, after a long period
of living in Detroit and Washington, he's finally back on the scene.

For anyone who hasn't seen him before, Orlando uses his extensive old
school DJing techniques (he was dutch DMC mixing champ way back in
1987) and blends them with future sounding club tracks from Detroit to
Tokyo and back again- a real treat for the connoisseurs of music that
I know you all are!

There's some pre-club food and music at the Courtyard bar on West Nile
street and there will be a special after party too.

It beats staying in and watching X-Factor!

cheers

Jason

Thanks Jason. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

it's a track from the next Iridite EP by FAO Jesus aka Samuel, an old
friend of mine form Salford

I can tell by the above line, this is obviously a man of great style and
panache.

Everyone lives in Salford now, I get neighbours coming round for midi leads
and joints worths instead of cups of sugar and eggs. I find it quite funny,
but I'm not sure my girlfriend thinks it's quite as amusing.

Btw, if anyone is in Manchester tonight, me mate is dj'ing at Canteena, so
me and dunc are off down there for a pint if anyone else fancies it.

and while I'm on the subject, Miles is a good dj and has a cd here -
http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?merchID=14385
I've not heard it, there's probably alot of electronica type stuff on
there, I reckon some list heads would dig it.
ha, just looking and he's got single of the week on booomykat too!

fix!

anyway, rambling on again.

Hi Alex,

it's a track from the next Iridite EP by FAO Jesus aka Samuel, an old
friend of mine form Salford orginally but resident in Glasgow for the
last 10 years. He released an excellent album of non-dacefloor
oriented, warm, mini epic-productions a couple of years ago- very hard
to define- sometimes smooth. occasionally difficult and spiky. He
performed live at the Sub Club a few months ago and one of his tracks
seemed to fit alongside the two others we had planned for the EP
already- hopefully you should get to hear it all in November/December:

Iridite Productions- Profit and Loss (IR005)

FAO Jesus- tsetseflysoul (FAOj0013.1) is the name of his album- don't
think he has a website unfortnunately

cheers

Naw, I think they just put a price tag on the white you dropped off for
them?I am loving it too, the B1 track with the samples (and a
little acid if i recall correctly?) may actually be my favorite...
though I pitch it up to about +6 if i want to mix it. :) Gonna try
and play it tonight on the show if i can work it in the mix. Gonna try
for an electro-313 theme??

(313) Iridite 004- Electron Music

2003-12-10 Thread Jason Brunton

Hi peepz!

just to let our US list members know that Submerge have the new Iridite
release available through their web site now as I know it can be tricky
getting our stuff over there (or indeed sometimes over here too!).
Check the New Releases section, 3rd page.

cheers

Just picked up IR-004 at SID on Monday. Beautiful stuff,
solid tech tracks for the floor or just for kicking back and
listening. Take notes! All I need to complete the set is IR-

Happy Holidays!
