Re: (313) Jaguar Mixes
Saturday night Roland played in DoornRoosje, Nijmegen (Holland) he managed toplay almost every jaguar mix on the 430West release. I heard The mills mix, the octave one mix and the Mad Mike versio. Oh yeah and het playes the original :) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I tend to play Jaguar at about -4, it's just one of those that sounds cool however you use it (Will Web taught me about pitching Plastic Dreams to +8 and turning it into a bass track; Andy J (Astral Matrix) used to play Papua New Guinea at 45 -8 to make it into jungle :). Mr. C played Jaguar last right at the regular speed at 1015 Folsom in SF where I'm at right now and got a big reaction from a club crowd. phred -- Klaas-Jan Jongsma http://home.planet.nl/~kjongsma http://www.sonik.demon.nl/lowlands

IT sounds great at any pitch! I can't imagine hearing Jaguar +8 at a booty bar though! :) Peace, Patrick. I'm not convinced there ever was an actual 'remix' as such - when I was at Body Soul in August 'Jaguar' was certainly played but it sounded to me like the original. They tend to mutate tracks there quite heavily with FX and EQ and extend things with two copies etc. so it may have sounded quite different. Or maybe Francois did a re-edit to use at the club, I'm not sure... i thought francois k is one of those who plays it, pitched at -6 sounds different then .. .. .

I've heard several tracks that I know fairly well being transformed at BS into something that sounded quite different from the original (even up to the point where I failed to spot Aril Brikha - Groove la chord as TomC can testify :) ). Which can sometimes be a bit of a bummer if you've managed to hunt down a track only to find out that it's nowhere near as good as the version you heard in the club, as I found out with FK - Hypnodelic :( Otto

Unbelievable it is then :) (James, help me here!) The original *is* a good track though, I actually had it already before I heard it at BodySoul, it's just that when I dug it out again, it didn't nearly sound like I remembered it. Then I thought it was one of the remixes that got played, picked those up, but no luck either. I actually have that happen a lot to me: spotting tracks only to find out that I already have them. Any takers for my trainspotters' badge? :) Cheers, Otto Ob313: the first release on Final Frontier (a new label by Marco Passarani) is well worth checking out, there's a really good electro track on there, plus a downtempo track that is guaranteed to make you smile in its silliness.
Re: (313) Jaguar Mixes
fully behind otto on this one--hynodelic sent the place into a frenzy and sounded absolutley brilliant. but back home it just didn't sound like the same record. Re: (313) Jaguar Mixes
Have been kickin' the mixes down here (Sydney) for a couple of weeks now, and people are going crazy for it - wanting to know when they can get it, etc... Especially the Octave One mix, very hot indeed! I definately think that this release is gonna make BMG wake up and listen! Peace, Patrick.
