I know several people who "mix" their own productions from between two
laptops/computers, simply connecting them up through a standard Dj mixer,
synching the BPM in their production program, and literally pressing start
on the qued track exactly on time, then mixing as normal. I've done it
myself too. Takes a bit of getting used to , but it very workable.

bren.

General info is up at www.apple.com/retail/may2

What would be fantastic actually would be the combination of

RE: (313) This Friday - iPod event at all Apple stores

2003-04-30 Thread Mann, Ravinder [CCS]
Yeah don't forget the rewind noises.

When I was younger much younger than today I would make the occasional mix
tape. I had a keyring and you could make bomb noises and gunshot sounds -
you know the ones right ?. I would record the noise from them keyring
between tracks. Sometimes I used SW radio white noise. I had far too much
time on my hands : )

How does that work !?? Do Ipods have pitch controls nowadays ?
What would be fantastic actually would be the combination of ipod +
finalscratch
(oh yeah and if only they give ipod recording functionality..)

PG> Totally true. I think ipod's are one of the best things to happen to
music, i have over 500 albums encoded on one device that's smaller + lighter
than my portable cd player. Rich has been using one forever.. I don't know
how you would mix using one of them though, with two i suppose you could dj
jamaican style. Would be cool to have a final scratch type thing-ie for
IPOD's though!
