(313) T-funkshun with Rolando this Friday
T-Funkshun Friday 23rd September 2005 The Cavern Club, 8-10 Matthew St, Liverpool, L2 6RE DJ Rolando (aka The Aztec Mystic) //Los Hermanos//formerly UR assault DJ Scott 'NoctURne' McGill Mark Forshaw10:00-3:00 £8 advanced tickets//more on door (tickets available at www.ticketline.co.uk by close of play this week) Following on from our riotous 1st night at our new home, The Cavern Club, with Chicago's own Larry Heard, T-Funkshun are proud to present, DJ Rolando. DJ Rolando's return to Liverpool on September 23rd will rock The Cavern to the core of it's rather deep foundations! He'll be flanked on the night by T-funkshun's very own Motor City controller, Scott McGill, who has represented Detroit's musicology over in the UK for so long, despite never making it anywhere geographically near the home of Ford, unless you count Speke Boulervard's car-plant. The Larry Heard night will take some beating, but with the usual electric atmosphere in place, and regular friendly crowd should make this one close contender. There's more to the legendary Cavern club than the Beatles.

just thought it was funny/odd or maybe even surreal, for whatever reason to see a large poster on a brickwall behind 2 people strolling down the street advertising Derrick May @ t-funkshun. ;) Cheers! I see your fellow ressie is Mark Forshaw. Am I getting him confused with Michael Forshaw of Chan N Mikes or are they one and the same/brothers? -Original Message- From: s mcgill [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2002 9:21 PM To: 313 Cc: Jonny McIntosh Subject: Re: (313) t-funkshun Why thankyou Jonny. Glad you enjoyed it so much, and we likewise enjoyed your company once again. A truly fantastic night was had by all, whether for Jonny's set or seeing a huge visual on the wall of Jean-Claude Van Damme's dance routine in 'Kickboxer' movie. I knew it was going to be good as Jonny opened up with Larry Heard - Music Takes Me Up. I am still intrigued, as I know you are Jonny, to find out the origin of one punter's claim that you had played UR's Seawolf at 33rpm. Answers on a postcard. Anybody who is willing to venture next time then I will see you on: Friday November 8th t-funkshun @ Masque Theatre, Seel Street, Liverpool L1 Baby Ford (ifach, trellik, background, force tracks) Andy Nicolson (fissure) plus residents Mark Forshaw Scott McGill info at www.tfunkshun.com or www.masquevenue.co.uk Cheers, Scott - Original Message - From: Jonny McIntosh [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Monday, October 14, 2002 3:01 PM Subject: (313) t-funkshun Just a quickie to file my report on Scott McGill T-Funkshun's new Liverpool night. These guys are really doing their bit to represent quality music in Liverpool, and they're a great bunch - I had a great time on Friday night. They are also doing their bit to support the local licensed trade: I left three of them at 2pm the following day, still in the pub, with a large queue of Sambucas lined up. I bow down... ;) The next couple of nights with Baby Ford and then Luke Solomon will be great, never mind Valentine's Day. I also bumped into an old school friend, Jamie Ball, whose Turning Point records are as bonkers and scary as I'd expect. Check out Mark Forshaw's Revolution - with a healthy dose of Rob Hood influence. 0151 represents! [313] t-funkshun is back
Its that time again, time to pick up where we left off. t-funkshun is back on October 11th when we move to the most splendid of surroundings at Masque Venue (home of Chibuku). 90 Seel Street, Liverpool, L1. The nights will run on 2nd Friday of the month from then on. There is an extra drive behind us now, due to other nights not offering, or doing what they express to do. Maybe not always thinking with the head, but with slightly more heart, we as promoters still aim to put on artists that will not instantly guarantee hordes at the door; we want to put on people who deserve to be here. The coming months will show that. First up on Friday October 11th we will be hosting our launch night. This will feature the talent of the amazing Jonny McIntosh. (313 based boy!) Now if you have never heard or seen Jonny then this is the time to change that. I regard Jonny right up there as a dj; superfluously mixing through house, disco, soul, techno, whatever. As the launch night we are keeping the prices way down at £4/£5. 10-3am. DON'T MISS OUT. looking future funk. Friday 8th November: Baby Ford (Force Tracks, Ifach, Trelik, Background), Andy Nicolson (Fissure) Friday 13th December: Luke Solomon (Classic, Music For Freaks), more tba. Not forgetting the finest residents around: Mark Forshaw, nOctURne and friends. look out for the website which will be up and running soon. contact: [EMAIL PROTECTED] for the love, T-funk everything else is like dancing to no music. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
