Re: [313] Drexciya and the DEMF
What I would like to know though is were the selection comittee aware that PCM planned to list thier selection without having first booked or even contacted the artists involved? I probably didn't make much sense in my last post ... I think people are getting the lists of performers mixed up. The list they were referring to in the paper (the one they had compiled before contacting anyone) was internal. Lots of time and events passed between that and the list they finally released to the public. -d - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [313] Drexciya and the DEMF
Well if its been esatblished that this is thier selection policy then I missed that, but what the hell!! Sorry if this has been discussed to death, but surely that breaks every ethical rule of party promotion in the book. Firstly it seems kinda presumptious to assume that DJs who may well have prior bookings across that weekend will drop everything and dissapoint those looking forward to hearing them at prebooked and planned parties and secondly did it not occur to them that some artists, who they might even have contracted through more appropriate channels, would end up dissing the event through thier sheer audicity. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but it really seems like a huge mess and one thats gonna really harm the festivals reputation. What I find unbelievable is that this is a Detroit based promoter who is f*cking around with one of the toughest artist collectives (UR Drexciya) in the city and have a reputation for calling it like it is. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he actually introduces himself as, Bone. Reminds me of some cheesy line from some early 90s movie where someone introduces himself as, Maverick. s were the selection comittee aware that PCM planned to list thier selection without having first booked or even contacted the artists involved? I really don't think that's how it happened. They come up with a wish list and work from there ... the artists that are listed now are booked AFAIK. We were not supposed to see the list that was posted at noon, and PCM has said so in the press. -d - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
