Cheers! :)

If anyone wants any of those mixes in mp3 format (on the public area of the
site, annoyingly, they're stored as realaudio) let me know - I can sort out
a logon for the mp3 area.

I don't think anyone has hit the motherlode quite yet though:

www.deephousepage.com

An immense and lovingly-maintained collection of mixes dating back to the
1970s, through the days of Larry Levan and the Hotmix 5 up to more recent
sets from Theo Parrish, Stacey Pullen, Derrick May, Larry Heard and a bunch
of other names. A lot of mixes on here have been recorded live at clubs like
the Music Box, Paradise Garage and the Music Institute, so without wishing
to be corny, you get the chance to hear 'history in the making' so to speak!

Most of the mixes are in realaudio format, but lots are available as
downloadable mp3s as well.

http://www.adapteri.com/betoni is my favourite site at the moment.
This is a huge Finnish archive of dubby techno and electro.
I discovered it months ago and still haven't found the time to listen to
them all.
Check if you like your Basic Channel-type grooves and glacial electronica.
There's a great electro mix from Haywire's Rick Hopkins on:

They're no good if you do all you're surfing at work and you have a good
firewall - I have never been able to download anything off Paxahau. Isn't
Soulseek a filesharing site, rather than a mix archive?

well yeah annoyingly it's all realaudio...a format i just wish would die
(realaudio software spies on you, and is low quality)

http://www.teknet.ch/ has the occasional good mp3 mix up

Re: (313) any good websites?

2002-09-27 Thread Michael Lees

Some of the sites I use in no particular order

http://www.frequencydetroit.com/
http://www.11-hour.com/music/radio.asp -- This has links to lots of sites
http://www.adapteri.com/betoni/ -- Amazing site
http://www.groovetech.com/ -- see techno archives (it has booty listed
under hard house for some reason)

I'm behind a firewall and I can still get to Paxahau, I just set the
proxy settings in realplayer.

Submerge has a couple also but most of these are also on groovetech.

Hope this helps

I have never been able to get Real Player. I think my work must block those
kind of programs apart from Windows Media Player and Quicktime. A pity 'cos
Groovetech and Paxahau have some wicked looking mixes
