Tickets available at face value from the box office 020 7253 5511. Postal bookings at £30.00 each plus booking fee (+ £3.50). Cheques made payable to X313. Enclose SAE and daytime phone number and send to: Transit, 22a Adeyfield House, Cranwood Street, Hoxton, London EC1V 9PD. Allow 28 days for delivery. - Atlas have tickets too, and I think some of the other usual spots in London do as well (Rough Trade?). If you buy from the Credit Card number they'll insist on sending the ticket special delivery, which is admittedly very fast, but you'll have to be in when it arrives to sign for it and it costs quite a bit for a mere bit of paper. One of the guys in Atlas said that the tickets were selling well. There was a poster up in the shop with all the relevent names featured. It's up to you at the end of the day. Everyone who's bought a ticket is facing the same risk - I don't think we can give you any more reassurance than we have received ourselves. I'm certainly not gonna spend the run up to this event worrying whether it will happen or not. As someone else said, I'm sure most people have been let down by no-shows before (anyone else get suckered into one of the Eclipse festivals??) - I reckon this one's worth taking a gamble on though... Wooh... Somebody got out of bed the wrong side :) I have lost count of the number of times I have gone to see Moodymann only to hear he hasn't turned up. Well, I haven't actually... it's 2 times and 1 of them was at Space which does that a lot anyway. Nonetheless, it's a fairly reasonable doubt and it's not based on any player hating, just experience. In any case, I AM GOING TO BUY A TICKET TO THIS. I do have every faith in Ranx even if he is a grump, as the 3 chairs night was probably the best night out I have ever had in London and I know Frank Jack thinks the same too. So what else do you need to know? Well, I need to know where exactly to get tickets, is it only via the web site, or do they have them in Atlas, too? I hope to see you all there too, those of you that attain charitable status in time, of course. RE: [313] MOODYMANN in London NYE
As some listmembers already know I have squeezed the last out of my piggy bank to go to London to see UR live. I also arranged for a feature on the party in Bassic Groove, the leading Dutch dance mag. This London-trip is an extremely costly endeavour for me and my friends especially with the exchange rate for the £ being so high. You can imagine how disappointed we all would be if UR would not perform. I guess a lot of us, some more than others, are really waiting for a 100%-sure confirmation. The party is going down in about three weeks. Isn't it time to put an end to the doubt and the rumours? John, concerned, out Personally I have to say that I DO have confidence that this will come off. I'll be very disappointed if there is no live show, though, as happened in '98, when hundreds paid a hefty ticket fee and made it down to London for what turned out to be (highly enjoyable) a DJs-only session, only to find out that UR played live at 69 in Glasgow two days later for a handful of people. Ideally, I'm hoping that UR and Drexciya both play live... But I have to say that I think calling people on this list 'player haters' (ahem) just because they express doubts about everyone on the bill making it over is a little out of order. Everyone on this list will have had experience of big-name DJs not showing up at some point or other. Oh, and if anyone saw the feature on Moodymann in the new Slut, they may have noticed that Ranx is described as 'the only UK promoter to have brought Moodymann to the UK to DJ', which isn't strictly true. I saw him spin at Pure at The Arches in Glasgow in about '96 where I believe he was a last minute replacement for Terrence Parker who couldn't attend due to the then-recent death of Ken Collier. Wicked night, that: K Hand, Memory Foundation, Sativa, KDJ, T&B...
