RE: (313) track ID please?

2009-01-07 Thread fran...@thatamazingthing
I usually try to help with these (though others generally beat me to it).

But here I seem to have a choice of a page with loads of shows etc. on so I
can't tell which one you're talking about (and you seem
to have to register before listening) or spending 25 mins downloading the whole
shebang from Sendspace?

Unless you make it easy (try clipping the bit you want out and making that
available) I'll have to pass. That site looks like it
has links to tracklists though?

 Thanks in advance!

Thank you in advance. I'd actually love the whole track listing, know

Yeah if you click on the tracklisting link, it's empty. I've search
everywhere. I would clip it but I don't have the software and only
have a work computer, no computer at home (it died, alas). He's also
got a link on Facebook... thanks anyway!

 Fix - 'Flash' on KMS.

And speaking of Orlando Voorn, he was recently listed on the DJ lineup
of a new rb club opening in The Hague here in the Netherlands. I knew
he was a musical omnivore, but that was still a bit of a surprise. I
don't know if he just spins it or also produces it, but it'd certainly
be interesting to hear his take on rb.

i've heard orlando voorn say in an interview, that he was working on a
project together with guru from gangstar/jazzmattaz. but that was about 2
years ago. (for the dutch speeking 313ers, it was in an interview for the
12inch show on newdanceradio, you can probably find it somewhere on the
web.) and as kj allready stated (in dutch) he started out in hiphop.
the man is pretty versatile, i think he has even produced some gabber
records, and some drum and bass. his last album (the riderman?) was quite
diverse if i remember correctly.

sorry haven't got that far yet but what amazes me about this set is how
people from different countries have completely different takes on cool 80's
tracks eg the purpose maker vs spin me round thing wouldn't really work in
oz and now john aquaviva has played talking heads as the days go by
(approx 21mins in) would this go down well with most 313ers as i can only
speak for myself in that all i can think of is the dgen/late show comedy
show on abc and them paying out David Boon (aussie cricketer with a huge mo,
probably more famous for drinking 52 cans of beer on a flight to the UK)

yet all that said some 80's tracks that i really like would have me copping

Hi,

I heard this track a couple of times.. the record label on the vinyl is
black or very dark.. one DJ even shouted the name to me, but I really
couldn't hear anything over the massive volume.

Anyhow, the track got a really, really deep bass. There's a big break,
in which only this really dark and deep continuous bass is left. I bet
most of you know it, so I took the time and fopped up a short sample
of what I remember (this bass in the break). Granted, it's as accurate as
I remember it.

The sample is at:
http://crisk.webjump.com/id.mp3 (around 100k, nothing big)

So.. please, let me know if you recognize this track.. I'm sure you would.

Thanks,

Extremely funky, extremely soulful techno track. It has the lyrics Come on

Pretty sure it's a UR or Red Planet release.

Heard it a thousand times and must have it.

That's got to be 'Soulsaver' by Gerald 'The Deacon' Mitchell, from the
Underground Resistance 'Interstellar Fugitives' album...

And if you like that, make sure you check 'Groove Within The Groove' on 430
West, and 'Celestial Highways' (under the name M5) on Metroplex...
