Adam F is damn good. His tune, "Brand New Funk" is the tune that really got me into Drum and Bass. Just ask KT, i'd scream like a loon when it came on. I'm listening to the Andy C remix of "Stand Clear" as we speak, it's got the whole scene buzzing at the mo. And his tune "Metrosound" is currently one of the most saught after tunes as well, it's only on promo. I want it bad, and Sheldon went ape on NYE when he heard it. And the guy who said that about Bad Company - who's he? Cheeky sod. Rob. Well, Adam F is a guy who hopped into jungle/dnb for a little bit, made a few totally innovative tunes (for the time), and then hopped out as fast as he got in. He just said "this is my intrepetation of what you guys are doing"I can respect that. He brought some outside influences into the genre, which is usually a good thing. I don't care too much, I don't necc love him or anything, there are people I'm way more into for jungle/dnb that deserve more of my respect, but he has way more integrity than say, Bad Company or Klute or any of those clowns.. :) Ian Scott aka DJ Entropy [EMAIL PROTECTED] (bhpc, cheesestep rec., n.e. hardcore, raverporn.net, neverworld, boston) http://www.djentropy.comhttp://www.ne-hardcore.com Upcoming gigs: http://www.warblevx.net/djentropy/upcominggigs.html "There is no ONE right way to live" - Daniel Quinn Producers: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/us-production "Educate the narrow minds, they see what they want to see. Re: [313] OT: Adam F
Moving on, he sure is. LL Cool J is calling him the new Dr Dre. He has done tracks for Redman and LL Cool J. Can't say I was blown away, it's not hugely innovative or distinctive compared to, say, The Neptunes. I have his hip-hop album Adam F Presents Kaos: The Anti Acoustic Warfare (terrible promotion for this, shame) but haven't played it, as Timbaland & Magoo's is so good! I have good reports on it and guests include the likes of De La. >1/25/2002 7:09:38 AM, "Odeluga, Ken" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >>Name another Adam F classic, except Colours :o)? ... Re: [313] OT: Adam F
I finally played the Adam F hip-hop album and it's really strong. It has a big cinematic soundtrack feel, if you like RZA productions circa Wu-Tang Forever, this will appeal. I think the album would have been more of a commercial success had Adam waited to build up his name a little more in hip-hop before doing a conceptual album, since the usual way is to lace up everyone a la Neptunes/Timbaland, then do an LP when the kids know who you are. I think he probably went into it a little fast. The start of the song Last Dayz (with Pharoahe Monch, formerly of the ace Organized Konfusion and Simon Says fame) would be good to kick off a techno set with. It's got a strong New World Order dystopian theme. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
