2006-08-02 Thread Vikas Kapoor
Looking at the error you pasted, it appears that you've entered the server
name wrong, while your error shows it is gmail.com, whereas in the case of
incoming, it should be pop.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com in the case of
outgoing.

The version sold by saksham is the latest version. All persons who
purchased standard edition after December 15 can load the new version
without any requirement of getting new serial number. The upgrade to all
premium edition license holders if free. The cost of talks ermains same as
before.

Thanks

Please varify that 1. allow authentication check box is checked under
the server page of the account properties. 2. under the advanced page of
the properties the smtp port number should be 465 and 3 the SSL check
box next to the port number is also checked.

Hi Yogesh,

I think, the port should be "465" for your Gmail account. Check it out
in
the advance tab of the properties of your pop.gmail.com account.

[AI] IBM To Use AMD Chips In New Servers

2006-08-02 Thread ashish
By Philipp Gollner Tue Aug 1, 5:51 AM ET SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - IBM (NYSE: -
),
the world's largest technology services company, on Tuesday is announcing new
server
computers giving businesses access to computing power typically used by
universities
and large corporations.
The five systems, set to be unveiled at a New York briefing on Tuesday, use
microprocessors
from Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE: - ), which has been making inroads
against
industry leader Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: - )
The systems promise more computing power but are more energy-efficient and
generate
less heat than earlier machines. They also cost less than comparable
high-performance
systems, IBM said.
The announcement is a boost for AMD as it hopes to maintain momentum against a
raft
of new chips from Intel. Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: - ), the world's biggest personal
computer
maker, in May said it planned to use AMD's Opteron processors in high-end server
computers by the end of the year, ending a 22-year exclusive relationship with
Intel.
"Opteron offers a very high level of performance that is being adapted more and
more
for mainstream business applications," said Charles King, principal analyst at
Pund-IT
Research in Hayward, California.
AMD Chief Executive Hector Ruiz is scheduled to attend the New York briefing,
along
with Bill Zeitler, head of IBM's systems and technology group.
International Business Machines Corp. of Armonk, New York, faces tough
competition
in the server market from Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: - ), the leading global
server
vendor by revenue in the first quarter, according to market researcher IDC.
Both companies had about 28 percent of the worldwide server market in the first
quarter,
but IBM's revenue share fell 3.6 percent while Hewlett-Packard's share was
little
changed. Sun Microsystems Inc. (Nasdaq: - ) grew the fastest of the major
vendors,
with a 5.8 percent revenue gain and 10.8 percent of the global server market,
IDC
said in May.
IBM started using Opteron processors in 2003, but sold them mainly to
high-performance
users such as universities and research centers, King said.
The systems also have been used by large insurers for sophisticated risk
modeling
and loss simulations, he said.
"What's happened in the last two years is there's been an increasing
intersection
of high-performance computing and commercial business applications," King said.
Businesses can put the new IBM systems to use in an array of applications, from
intensive
data processing to running Web sites, King said. They are also suited to
delivering
video and television over the Internet.
IBM expects to start selling the new servers in the third quarter, when it will
also
announce pricing.

Re: [AI] CONCESSIONAL RAILWAY TICKET BOOKING

2006-08-02 Thread Aruni Arsh
Hello Dinanathji, I suppose you are our senior from B.R.A. Yes there is
a great need to pursue this matter. First of all, the railways will have
to work out a simpler way to issue the concession certificate. It's
really very difficult to get a concession form prepared which is
accurate in all respects. Otherwise the booking clerk always creates one
or the other hurdle. You can imagine the difficulties people face in
cities like Lucknow in getting the thing done let alone small towns and
villeges. I myself have been unable to get the concession facility due
to the absence of a concession certificate here. We can proceed on the
net reservation issue only if the railways makes arrangements for us to
get the certificates directly from their authorities.
Regards
aruni.

Vishal M Jain <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.

Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for

survival. Check out the things that you can do with it: -

EMERGENCY

I

The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find

yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an

emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to

establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112

can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

II

Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote

keys?

This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call

someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person

at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone
ontheir end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your

keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away,

and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you

can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car

over a cell phone!"

III

Subject: Hidden Battery power

Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important call

and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve

battery. To activate, press the keys 3370# Your cell will restart with

this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This

reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

AND

IV

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on

your phone:

# 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your

handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone ge ts

stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They

will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the

SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever

stole it can't use/sell it either.

If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile

phones.

[AI] CONCESSIONAL RAILWAY TICKET BOOKING

2006-08-02 Thread YADAVDN
I appreciate the concern raised by one of our members. It's a real issue
needs to address in proper perspective especially in this era of high tech
globalisation. IRCTC claims to be raising its service levels on netbooking
by announcing several schemes such as E-ticketing, I-ticketing, SMS booking,
availability status, etc., it time now it should take care to work on
providing concessional tickets on the site. In view of the difficulties we
have to face travelling to booking counters, long queues, abnormal behaviour
of the clerical staff at the counter, inconveniences to others due to
intrinsic delay while booking a concessional ticket, I feel the issue has to
be strongly represented to the Ministry for consideration. Perhaps our
Govts have always waited for mass representation of an issue, our individual
E-mails on the subject may catch their attention which has been left
neglected by the ministry.

Thanks,

Re: [AI] thanks dinesh, with real speak daniel and talks

2006-08-02 Thread rajesh asudani
Well friends, I have tried and listened to real speak voice and frankly
speaking, I did not like it. Yes, it gives somewhat natural variations in
intonations as compared to other TTS Voices, however, I found the
variations- rhythm constant, rising and falling uniformly irrespective of
content. My views are strictly subjective, but as a rule, I don't prefer
dramatized reading of text and eloquence gives a constant reading allowing
scope for imagination instead of having text rendered intoned with
subjective intonation of the reader or have it rendered in uniform
fluctuations of intonations like by real speak Daniel. Some human readers
like Mr. Amar Chaturvedi have the remarkable ability of rendering text in a
superbly human voice and way, undramatized, yet with something marvelously
empathizing with situation and characters.
However, I am fully aware that there are other choices and people like
dramatized rendering of text. Still, I wonder whether real speak Daniel's
renderings--with uniform rising and falling of tone-- will be liked by them
also!!!
