Hello friends, I have MP3 recordings of some of the subjects. The sound of those recordings are very low even after increasing the volume of the speaker to the highest level. Congenital cataracts had left his mother and brother partially blind from birth. Charles feared he was next. In the seventh grade, Charles came face to face with his nightmare: In less than five months he went from being a 12-year-old avid reader to almost completely blind. But using Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, a program designed to help physically and mentally disabled readers, Charles has recaptured his love of reading through specially recorded audiobooks. ''It was hard,'' said Charles, now 17. ``I had to stop relying on my eyes and start listening to the books.'' Blurry images now fill Charles' world. Dark burgundy curtains cover the windows in his room. Sunlight sometimes makes the chronic pain in his eyes worse. He navigates his computer without turning on the screen. Here, he sits for hours listening to CDs from Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. The program has an audio library of more than 109,000 titles, covering a wide range of books and textbooks on subjects including history, math, science and social studies. It works much like Netflix, where users subscribe and make requests; their orders are filled by the company's national headquarters based in Princeton, N.J. and mailed to the clients. ''The more people we reach, the happier we are,'' said Christine McCarthy, regional director of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, who coordinates services for the state of Florida. ``We want to give people a chance at an education.'' There are more than 120,000 subscribers in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Company staff members visit clients at their job or school to train them on how to navigate the software. An investigation of a range of printer models showed that almost a third emit potentially dangerous levels of toner into the air. The Queensland University of Technology scientists have called on ministers to regulate these kinds of emissions. They say some printers should come with a health warning. The researchers carried out tests on more than 60 machines. Almost one-third were found to emit ultra-tiny particles of toner-like material, so small that they can infiltrate the lungs and cause a range of health problems from respiratory irritation to more chronic illnesses. Conducted in an open-plan office, the test revealed that particle levels increased five-fold during working hours, a rise blamed on printer use. The problem was worse when new cartridges were used and when graphics and images required higher quantities of toner. The researchers have called on governments to regulate air quality in offices. Mozilla Rushes Out Another Firefox Patch Mozilla has released Firefox 2.0.0.6, which patches two more security holes. Robert McMillan, IDG News Service Tuesday, July 31, 2007 5:00 AM PDT ser, two weeks after security researchers first started posting code that showed how the flaws could be exploited in attacks. The 2.0.0.6 version of Firefox, released Monday, fixes a pair of related flaws in the URL protocol handler component of Firefox, which is used to launch programs when a user clicks on certain specially crafted Web links. Mozilla rates these problems critical, meaning they are a serious security risk. But they have also proven to be an embarrassment for the open-source project. Earlier in the month security researcher Thor Larholm showed how to exploit this type of problem in order to make Internet Explorer and Firefox jointly launch software on a user's machine without authorization. To make the attack work, IE would load malformed data from a Web site, and would then send it to Firefox, which would launch the unauthorized software Microsoft Corp. and Mozilla disagreed about who was to blame, however, with Mozilla initially saying that the attack wouldn't work on Firefox alone. But last week, Mozilla's security chief Window Snyder admitted that her team was wrong. We thought this was just a problem with IE. It turns out, it is a problem with Firefox as well, she said in a blog posting . We should have caught this scenario. The URL protocol handler flaw will also be patched in Thunderbird 2.0.0.6, Thunderbird 1.5.0.13 and SeaMonkey 1.1.4, Mozilla said. [AI] error with nokia p c suite..
Hello!!? From last week I am facing some error with this nokia p c suite.. I am using nokia n 70 music.. I am pasting both the errors for your refference below.. 1. Nokia PC Suite - Get Connected There is no available connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit. OK and the next mesage is that.. 2. Nokia PC Suite - Get Connected Failed to detect available connection types! Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite. OK and in both cases as have no choice I just do an ok.. even uninstalling and re installing the nokia p c suite did not help I have atleast tried doing it more then 10 times.. and still nothing happened.. and also I also tried to send my files with the dongel blue tooth.. but no luck with that one as well.. some how am still not able to transfer the files in any way.. if you are doing this from a CD then try copying the CD to you hard drive folder and then do the installation. If this one also does not work then google the file and download it to the folder where you copied the CD and then continue the installation.
