Re: [AI] Incentives for marrying physically challenged
What he meant by abuse is the fact that people (especially able-bodied men) marry persons with disability for money and ditch them once they get hold of the doe. Though there are genuine cases where people show real willingness (often with great courage) to share their lives with the disabled person, unfortunately that remains a minority --or at least people generally think that able-bodied persons con the disabled persons to filch the little money they have. Re: [AI] Incentives for marrying physically challenged
This may be a welcome news for some people in the state, but gluttonous and dishonest people can misuse of this scheme. Getting married with a suitable life partner is a matter of our willingness from heart and soul but encouraging the people to be married with disabled by money? doesn't make any sense in my opinion. Re: [AI] regarding inter recording
Hi, infact, there're many such recording players. but the one I use most and like much is the real-player-11. it's recording quality is immensely good, and the application is quite accessible. but if you wish to record, you've to start recording before the file begins playing, meaning, once the file is played on your PC, you won't be in a position to record it back. you've to therefore take precautions of recording before you go for playing your file online. once you've takencare of that, you'll have a recorded file in your hand! hope it'll help! > Date: Sun, 1 Jun 2008 06:48:12 -0700> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: > AccessIndia@accessindia.org.in> Subject: [AI] regarding inter recording> > > Dear friends> Is their is any software with which inter recording is possible > in computer.> For example we would like to record some BBC programs after > listening> on internet> Thank you in anticipation> > To unsubscribe send a > message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the subject unsubscribe.> > To change your > subscription to digest mode or make any other changes, please visit the list > home page at> > http://accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/accessindia_accessindia.org.in _ Make every e-mail and IM count. Re: [AI] about jaws cursor on labtop
Hi, in most cases, the lay-out of your labtop is what matters most. as some of friends have already suggested, you can actually use caps lock-on and lock-off as your Jaws Key, but in certain events, especially if you're using HP Labtop, it mightn't work. following can be the universal method for activating your jaws curser. hold on the second left bottom key in your key-board and press Slash, which is located left to your right shift key. to activate your PC--curser again, hold on the same left bottom-key and press Semi-Colon. I hope this works! > Date: Mon, 2 Jun 2008 12:30:17 +0530> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: > accessindia@accessindia.org.in> Subject: [AI] about jaws cursor on labtop> > > Hi friends,> Presently I am using labtop and I would like to know how to use > jaws> cursor on a labtop.> > Please help me.> > Kavita> > To unsubscribe send > a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the subject unsubscribe.> > To change > your subscription to digest mode or make any other changes, please visit the > list home page at> > http://accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/accessindia_accessindia.org.in _ Give to a good cause with every e-mail. [AI] Incentives for marrying physically challenged
Staff Reporter WCD prepares detailed scheme, Finance Department nod awaited CDMO has to certify the person must live with 40 p.c. disability The scheme will help physically challenged girls BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa government is contemplating paying a cash incentive of Rs. 50,000 to bride or groom who would come forward to marry a physically challenged person. A detailed scheme for incentive to start a family life was prepared by Women and Child Development (WCD) Department. The WCD has moved the file to Finance Department seeking latter's consent. Sources in WCD Department said in any case if a physically challenged person was getting married, he or she would be entitled to get Rs. 50,000. A budgetary allocation could be made for the purpose soon, a highly placed source said. For identification of beneficiary, Chief District Medical Officers would have to certify that person must live with 40 per cent of disability for qualifying the eligibility. A committee comprising of secretaries of health, panchayati raj, higher education and WCD would give a nod to final list of eligible couples. As per 2001 census reports, the total population of Orissa is 36804660, of which 1021335 are persons with disability. There are many other surveys by National Sample Survey Organisation, office of Chief Commissioner Disability and WHO, which report higher percentage of the persons with disability in general population. Reacting to the development, Sruti Mohapatra, a prominent activist for physically challenged population in the State, said disability was a curse for many. "We have a patriarchal society. Generally girls with disability are left behind while their counterparts manage to get married. The scheme will help the physically challenged girls," Ms. Mohapatra said. Good gesture She said it would be a good gesture on behalf of the State government to extend incentive to start a family life by a physically challenged person. Earlier, the State government announced cash incentive of Rs. 50,000 to encourage inter-caste marriage. It was decided that higher caste youths would get a one-time cash incentive of Rs. 50,000 if they marry SC and ST girls. The money would be kept in fixed deposits in any nationalised bank in the name of concerned girl. Whatever the number, the harsh reality is despite State Government's commitment to providing support services to enhance the quality of life of persons with disability in Orissa, low literacy, few jobs and widespread social stigma make disabled people among the most excluded.
