I would like to learn Hindi. My mother tongue is Tamil. I had no chance of learning Hindi in the past. However during schooling I learned little bit of Hindi. Last year I got appointed in S B I in clerical cadre. Being a visually impaired person, I think learning Hindi may definitely help in my professional life. So nowadays I am learning hindi. I am trying to converse in Hindi with Hindi knowing people. Daily I am learning new words. Since I learned Hindi in schooling as a sighted person, I know the sighted Hindi alphabets . With that help I learned Microsoft Keyboard layout of Hindi with the help of Lekha, e speak and NVDA. For installing Lekha, our list member , Mrs. Sakina helped me a lot. Thanks for her. Now I am looking for some websites where they an teach me Hindi in a proper way. Is there any mailing lists in Hindi to improve my knowledge. If so, please inform me. You can also suggest me the various ways to improve my hindi. I dont want to learn Hindi only for speaking, instead I would like to learn it for writing also. Writing means typing in computers. So I would like to learn the spelling of each and every letter also. Before completing this mail, I have to say one more thing. I dont know braille, so please dont suggest me the hindi braille magazines. I hope you learned people can guide me in this regard. Please throw some light in my issue and reply me as early as possible. You can contact me off the list also. I am interested to converse in Hindi. So if somebody interested, you can call me over skype. My skype: jayachandran1977 I will be available in the mornings from 7.00 to 8.00.A.M. in Skype. Sorry for this long mail. Looking forward for your positive and early mails. Dear friends, I am not very good in English also. If there is any grammatical mistakes in this mail. Please apologise. Thanks in advance. You need to pay for the service, contact any Charted Accountant and they will get you the digital signature dongle, connecting that dongle will allow you to digitally sign documents. Re: [AI] some questions about gps and way finder access!!!
So, does it mean that We cannot obtain readymade checkpoints for loadstone also!! I have been browsing various sites about the matter and various tools on LS site only convert databases etc. Even the distance and heading calculator there fails to give any reliable feedback. Nokia OVI maps are not fully accessible and are not usable with most handsets. So, Geetha, Pranav, Vetri and others who have been using GPS, Please reply that is it the fact that now we may not get any assistance for finding directions to desired place even in LS? Or is there any way left? Actually, GPS which is of utmost use to blind persons in navigation, has remained a tantalizing illusion for them, till now. so sad! [AI] Fw: Welcome to Phone Watch 1 at RNIB on 30th July 2010
- Original Message - From: Kaja, Kiran kiran.k...@rnib.org.uk To: The Accessible Phones Discussion List blindpho...@mosenexplosion.com Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2010 2:11 PM Subject: Welcome to Phone Watch 1 at RNIB on 30th July 2010 Hi All, Some of you might be interested in the event below. Please email me off list with any questions so as not to clutter the list. Phone Watch 1 Date: 30th July 2010 Time: 5pm-7pm Location: RNIB, 105 Judd Street, London WC1H 9NE Room: Meeting Room 5 (lowerground floor) Organisers: Kiran Kaja email: kiran.k...@rnib.org.uk. Tel: 0207 391 2044 Andrew Ronksley email: andrew.ronks...@rnib.org.uk Tel: 0207 391 2191. For questions or comments about the event, please contact the organisers via email or by telephone. Accessibility of mobile phones and devices has generated a lot of interest among blind and partially sighted people in recent times. Compared to 5 or 6 years ago, the choice of accessible phones has significantly improved. in addition to 3rd party screen reading and screen magnification solutions for Symbian Series 60 based Nokia phones, we now have Apple iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 which have a screen reader and screen magnification software built-in, there by providing access out of the box at no extra cost. There are also accessibility solutions in development for Google's Android based smart phones and Blackberry devices from Research in Motion. With all these options and the mobile technology evolving continuously at a rapid pace, it is extremely important for end users with visual impairments to understand all the available alternatives to make an informed choice. Further, most mobile phones these days can perform a number of useful tasks other than voice calling and text messaging. These so called smart phones and super phones are capable of providing access to your diary, keep track of your tasks, provide satellite based navigation as well as double up as media players. Phone Watch is a series of short (about 2 hours each) and highly interactive sessions where we aim to provide end users with information and where ever possible, demonstrate all the latest developments in the field of mobile devices and technology. Additionally, we also aim to provide useful information and tips on how to make more use of your phone's capabilities. Since the sessions are highly interactive, participants are encouraged to exchange ideas and information which could perhaps be documented to benefit other end users with visual impairments. The first of these Phone Watch sessions will be held at RNIB's Judd Street office on Friday, the 30th of July from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. if you are interested in participating, please let the organisers know at the earliest as places are very limited. The provisional agenda for Phone Watch 1 is as follows: * Welcome and introduction to Phone Watch - Robin Spinks, Principal Manager, Digital Accessibility at RNIB. * Demonstration of Vodafone Speak, an on-demand, over the air screen reader for Symbian Series 60 mobile phones. * Overview of built-in Android Accessibility features and 3rd party custom accessibility tools. * Interactive demos. * iPhone and iPad apps to help partially sighted people use the internet. * Hands-on session. Please note this is a provisional agenda and is subject to change at short notice. Re: [AI] some questions about gps and way finder access!!!
Hi Rajesh and all, You are right, the Google Route Planner site has unfortunately stopped working. However, there are other methods of obtaining map data and converting it into LS checkpoints; for example, via GeoCoder or the Open Street Map sites. Loadstone's Tools page contains links to these sites as well as to programs which can convert this map data into LS points. Please visit http://www.loadstone-gps.com/docs/tools/ for additional information. Hope this helps. This is my opinion and I completely understand that this idea that I am suggesting below involves certain positive and negative issues as well. If some of us prefer, Why don't we have a rubber stamp for our signature? you can sign in a white paper to the best of your ability and give it to a rubberstamp maker and ask him/ her to make a rubberstamp for you. It is not a new idea and it already prevails in some big institutions where a person in higher designation requires to put thousands of signatures at a given stretch. Thank you. Re: [AI] Security information dialogue box.
hello guys, i believe that this artical may help you. “Fix this Annoying Security Warning in IE 8 “Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?” If you open a secure web page inside Internet Explorer 8 (one that begins with https like the Gmail web site or even Amazon.com), you might see a security warning dialog that says -- “This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS connection, which could compromise the security of the entire webpage.” This is annoying because IE won’t remember your choice and the warning message will appear every time you visit that page or web site. It basically means that the secure (https) web page that you are trying to open contains images and other elements that are hosted on a non-https location. They call it mixed content. Disable “Mixed Content” Warnings in IE If you would like to disable this security warning forever, go to Tools - Internet Options and select the Security tab. Make sure the “Internet” zone is selected and then click the “Custom Level” button. Scroll-down the list of options and set the “Display mixed content” setting from “Prompt” to “Enable.” The mixed content issue can only be fixed by the web developer, you are only suppressing the warning in the browser.” -- although this artical describes about IE 8, but the settings are almost same for IE 7. Re: [AI] about signature
Of course!!, we have to find answer for the legitimacy of using rubber stamp signatures. law of signatures has always had a whiff of technology about it. Whether the issue be the legitimacy of using rubber stamps or pre-printed forms, or the adequacy of a mere mark, there have always been those who argue that the method used to inscribe a signature is insufficiently permanent, unique, reliable or tamper-proof to satisfy a legal requirement for a signature. The English common law has never had much truck with technological objections. No English reported judgment has ever struck down a signature on the ground alone that inadequate technology has been used to create it. Even an X impressed with a rubber stamp can constitute a signature. This is not a complete answer and if you would like to know, you can refer http://www.rjerrard.co.uk/law/sweet/sweet2009.htm people interested can also read the book reviewed there in the website. Legal experts in our group can share their wisdom on this issue. Thank you. Actually, this information is taken from On 7/20/10, jignesh thakur jigneshthaku...@gmail.com wrote: is it valid? I don't see anything wrong with using thumb impression as long as we do not attach any stigma with it. As majority of us aware, not even the identical twins will have the same thumb impression. Basically, no one can fake it. However, in certain situation, I am having problems in using thumb impression. For instance, signing on the back of your credit / debit card immediately after you get and start using it for the first time. I am using signature since 2005 and I did not have any bad experience until right now. Sathiyaprakash. On 7/20/10, RENUKA WARRIER eren...@gmail.com wrote: Parden my ignorence.
