Dear all,
Was struggling to get a tool wich can extract . E X E files.
Came across one yesterday.
Universal extracter.
Now trying hard to make a Windows XP cd wich can contain at least the 
audio driver if not more.
If successful, the driver will also be installed along with the 
installation of windows.


Any tips in this regard from you experts will be much appreciated.

Sir sir sir wait a minute.
You must have seen tutorials on created automated disks no? blindcooltech's 
podcast I guess provides you with a way to inbuilt drivers etc. into the 
package?
And even N-Lite which is a utility which also lets you include softwares in 
it?
I have not tried N-lite, but just curious so far I have not come across any 
way by which we can install the windows through automated process in the one 
specified partition without touching your existing set of partitions. If 
that is not possible, then using this method is not so useful in general of 
course exception being the specified circumstances as per the case.
However long back I red somewhere that if you specify index location then it 
is possible, but how it is done, no guide on that.

If you have any idea on that please do let me know.

hi, it is not compatible with Firefox 4 hence it is getting disabled.
on 3.5 it is working fine tested 3.6.5 till 3.6.16. further as you
know Firefox automatically gets updated when a update is available so
check your version by Insert control V

I completely disagree with this line:Visual impairment is the worst form of
disability rather I feel it is the best disability If and if one need to
choose out of several disability.
Blind: don't see how people see them so nothing offensive! But rest of
disabled people do have to face that and believe me at times it is more
painful than a target of gunshot. Other disability actually prove hindrance
for personal growth but not in case of blindness.
Though social development for all disability is more or less equal.
With this opinion, I don't mean that Blind people don't have problem or
other things

Visual impairment is the worst form of disability. If one were to be
visually impaired person and also belong to poor family,  the problem
becomes more severe.  There cannot be a worse condition than being a
visually impaired woman and belong to poor family.  The problem of the
visually impaired persons are so severe that it should be seen  to be
believed.

Amongst the estimated 17 lakhs of differently abled persons in one state
namely Tamil Nadu  alone,  around ten lakhs of them are estimated to be
visually impaired persons and of this around five
lakhs are visually impaired women in the various age groups.   Quite a
number of them are born with visual impairment and many of them become
visually impaired  as they are not given proper treatment at the very young
age,  largely due to the ignorance of the parents and their lack of
affordability. Many of them become visually impaired  due to genetic
reasons, diabetic conditions  at a later stage of life and other reasons
such  as accidents etc.  While medical technology for treatment of blindness
has  been developed in a spectacular manner in recent years and great work
is being done by several  eye hospitals and ophthalmologists,  the problem
still remains at  an unacceptable level in India.


Large segment of the visually impaired people belong to lower income
group and face  extremely tough   and insecured conditions.  While the
Central and State governments have initiated many welfare schemes and NGOs
also adding to the Government efforts, they are not found to be adequate
considering the extent and intensity of the problem.

The most glaring  problems  faced by them is the joblessness and
unemployment, forcing many of them to virtually beg for their sustenance.
While the Government and several public sector units have reservations for
providing jobs to visually impaired persons,  many posts still remain vacant
due to their unsuitability for the positions advertised.

In the case of private sector, providing jobs to the visually impaired
persons is an exception rather than a rule. Rarely, they provide jobs for
visually impaired persons and if and when they do so, it becomes a news.
While a number of visually impaired persons have qualified themselves mostly
in the arts subjects , their qualification remains
only   as a matter of paper degree, as they are not recognized by
the employers  in the private sector for providing them job openings.

Apart from the jobless ness and consequent economic distress, the visually
impaired women face severe conditions of insecurity and
physical   abuse.  In several public forums, visually impaired women
have spoken about this problem and in private discussions many have
described their plight due to molestation  etc. and other forms of abuse.

In the case of many visually impaired persons particularly in the lower
income group, the family support is minimal.  Many of them are reasonably
well taken care of as long as their parents would be alive but after the
death of their parents,  the family support gets severely reduced, as other
members of the family are also poor and would view  the visually impaired
persons , as economic burden.

Facing severe unemployment conditions with the  potential employers not
viewing them with understanding, many visually impaired persons, both
educated and uneducated and men and women become vendors to sell assorted
goods .  A number of them sell the products in moving trains , in bus stops
and busy thoroughfares  and quite a number of them have met with  accidents
losing limbs and even losing lives in some cases.  The authorities
frequently chase them  away, when they try to sell their products  in such
areas and it is pathetic to see them running from pillar to post to find
place to position

No I was just looking at the possibility of getting XP or any other OS 
installed on C, leaving your other partitions as it is.
As of now to my knowledge if you create the disk and install, it deletes all 
your partitions and create a single partition. Which is certainly 
undesirable as in case of an error your whole data gets lost!

Well, whether visual impairment is the worst kind of disability or not
is relatively impossible to answer. But I am afraid, though the blind
cannot see how people look at them, they are quite aware, by the jeers
and tone of speaking that they are being insulted. Often I call people
and though I know that they are sitting there, they remain silent. So
one is humiliated by silence, not by looks. Writing that visual
impairment is the worst kind of disability may add emphasis to the

 visually impaired woman and belong to poor family.  The problem of the
 visually impaired persons are so severe that it should be seen  to be
 believed.

 Amongst the estimated 17 lakhs of differently abled persons in one state
 namely Tamil Nadu  alone,  around ten lakhs of them are estimated to be
 visually impaired persons and of this around five
 lakhs are visually impaired women in the various age groups.   Quite a
 number of them are born with visual impairment and many of them become
 visually impaired  as they are not given proper treatment at the very young
 age,  largely due to the ignorance of the parents and their lack of
 affordability. Many of them become visually impaired  due to genetic
 reasons, diabetic conditions  at a later stage of life and other reasons
 such  as accidents etc.  While medical technology for treatment of blindness
 has  been developed in a spectacular manner in recent years and great work
 is being done by several  eye hospitals and ophthalmologists,  the problem
 still remains at  an unacceptable level in India.


 Large segment of the visually impaired people belong to lower income
 group and face  extremely tough   and insecured conditions.  While the
 Central and State governments have initiated many welfare schemes and NGOs
 also adding to the Government efforts, they are not found to be adequate
 considering the extent and intensity of the problem.

 The most glaring  problems  faced by them is the joblessness and
 unemployment, forcing many of them to virtually beg for their sustenance.
 While the Government and several public sector units have reservations for
 providing jobs to visually impaired persons,  many posts still remain vacant
 due to their unsuitability for the positions advertised.

 In the case of private sector, providing jobs to the visually impaired
 persons is an exception rather than a rule. Rarely, they provide jobs for
 visually impaired persons and if and when they do so, it becomes a news.
 While a number of visually impaired persons have qualified themselves mostly
 in the arts subjects , their qualification remains
 only   as a matter of paper degree, as they are not recognized by
 the employers  in the private sector for providing them job openings.

 Apart from the jobless ness and consequent economic distress, the visually
 impaired women face severe conditions of insecurity and
 physical   abuse.  In several public forums, visually impaired women
 have spoken about this problem and in private discussions many have
 described their plight due to molestation  etc. and other forms of abuse.

 In the case of many visually impaired persons particularly in the lower
 income group, the family support is minimal.  Many of them are reasonably
 well taken care of as long as their parents would be alive but after the
 death of their parents,  the family support gets severely reduced, as other

hi, this is a common problem occurs in some sets even in mine also. i use 
nokia e51 some time it also says like this at that time it means that it is 
hanged. you have to switch off the phone and switch it on. then it will be

problem with talks in my n79 handset. When ever I open any
long sms or mail on my phone, talks stop the reading text. I shown

I have uninstall the talks and install 2 3 timesbut nothing is

I restart my phone and talks start working again normally.

With Due respect to Braille -Braille keyboard is good for those who are in
practice of Braillers but what I think or most would agree, the general
keyboard typing is the best and most accepted method. Additionally, the

Actually my son uses the computer, but knows the key by position from left
end or right end, will teach him touch typing, in a couple of years, 
fingers

to small to move in the touch typing method.

Was just wondering if giving him a Braille keyboard would help him do it
faster, in addition to generating interest in Braille in a known domain.

work. I need copies and more copies. It is so much more efficient.


Your son is young and his fingers will slowly settle into a rhythm.  Even

though I am a great fan of braille I dont recommend a braille key board.

As far as games are concerned I have just managed to borrow a braille

scrabble from Sam, if your son wants to play lets find some time.

Well, I don't know if there is any Braille keyboard. Webel Mediatronics 
supplies a mask with keyboard which covers up all keys except six for 
writing Braille on the computer. It should not be encouraged at all. 
Though your child may take some time to mastder the whole keyboard, but in 
the long run it will help him. So, don't go for Braille keyboard. Consult 
your nearest institution for practical help.


There are some accessible computer games, as Amar has suggested. Games 
attract children towards computer. Try other indoor games also, 
particularly those you can play with him.

hello to all,
as you may be aware that i am pursuing my studies in PGDBA (HRM) from
symbiosis centre of distance learning, pune. for this course, we have
online demand examination patern i.e. student can book their exam
slots as per their convenience at the desired test centres as
prescribed by the university. that means student has to just book the
exam slot and just appear for the exam without following any
additional formalities.

in my case, since my  university has no facility of providing any
assistive technology support such as, installing screen reading
softwares despite my request, each and every time i need to apply for
scribe approval request in advance to my university. after receiving
the said request from my side, concern department of  university goes
through the documents of my scribe varifies at their end and on
satisfaction, university forwards this documents to abtech head office
and further it is forwarded to concern abtech test centre for their
acknowledgement. this entire  procedure is done via email.

now coming to my problem. few days back if you remember i have raised
one issue on the list  regarding my scribe quallification wich has
been objected by university. i have chosen the scribe who has passsed
12th class and the university has advised me to take the scribe who
has passed with  minimum graduate degree. although after my long
debate with the concerned department, they have agreed to have the
scribe who was under graduate at my risk.

as i mentioned, each and every time, whenever i have to apply for my
scribe permission, i need to send the necessary details via email and
wait for the confirmation at their end at list for two days.
generally, i never receive the confirmation in two days as per their
normal practice to wait for two days for receiving the reply. so i
need to rigorously make the  follow up with them for getting the
approval for my scribe.

couple of times, i had to waste my exam slots bookings either for the
reason of not getting the quallified  scribe as suggested by them or
change of scribe request is not granted. in their view, you need to
apply for the scribe permision at list 15 days in advance of your exam
scheduled date and in case of change of scribe you need to apply at
list 7 days in advance.

these kind of rules are nowhere mentioned on the prospectus or in any
internal rules fraimmed by the university. despite this fact, i just
have been following whatever they needed to instruct me in this
behalf.

now situation has become much more complicated. since a weeks time, i
have been forwarding my scribe request all most everyday and making
call to them just to know about the status of my request. to my
surprise, university people are commenting that your mails are not
reaching to us. although they have advised to cross check the correct
email id and also given me the suggestion to forward the mail on
different email ids wich in their view are not reaching to them. i
have also tried one more suggestion given by them i.e. trying to send
the same mail from different mail ids wich has also not reached to
them. on the contrary, all the mails so far sent by me from my mail
ids and other mails ids are appeared in my sent items.

in my opinion, if these mails have not been reached to them, it could
iether be returned back to me by gmail team or should have been in the
draft folder.

while exploring the reasons for not getting delivered these mails due
to having their inbox full or might be that my antivirus has blocked
the mail but this is also not the case.

in the aforesaid circumstances, i feel that this is mere harassment to
discourage the people with visual impairment for whom they need to do
the additional routine work such as, verifying the scribe documents,
sending further to concerned abtech authorities etc.

in the light of the above mentioned problems faced by me, i seek for
your valluable advice specifically with following points:
1 with regard to online demand examination policy, where student is
free to choose the exam date, time, subject and exam centre at their
convenience, claiming to be the instant procedure, is the time limit
of 15 days seems worth?
2 what if i have to change scribe, 7 days notice is really required?
because, the verification procedure either with earlier scribe or
changed scribe is the same one.
3 in case of not reaching the mails at university and the same are
appearing in my sent folder, what could be the technical  reason?
4 can i ask the gmail team to give me the status of delivery of these
mails? if yes, what is the procedure?
5 in case of making the grievance to any grievance redressal fforum,
what kind of documents i can produce to show the delivery of my mails?

apart from these points, i do also request you to give the suggestions
or any suitable action that can be taken to resolve this problem.

This is just a conjucture on my part. It could be due to lack of
memory since older models tent to have memory related problems. I
suggest that you change your message location to memory card rather
than being in phone memory. The option to change it can be found under
settings when you are on messaging. Second, change the curser mode to
letters and see if it fixes the problem. Originally, curser mode is
set to original and the letter mode helps us with better navigation
within messages.

The problem is that though no application is open or rather no app is being 
shown, but some of the apps like music player keep running in background 
which eat your RAM thus creating this kind of error.
The solution is to use a software called task man, which lets you close 
such background running apps along with useless processes running in 
background.
I believe it to be a freeware software, and can be downloaded via googling 
as I don’t recollect the info about its website or manufacturer.

With Due respect to Braille -Braille keyboard is good for those who are

practice of Braillers but what I think or most would agree, the general
keyboard typing is the best and most accepted method. Additionally, the
Braille keyboard require to press multiple keys to type a character where

Actually my son uses the computer, but knows the key by position from 
left
end or right end, will teach him touch typing, in a couple of years,

to small to move in the touch typing method.

Was just wondering if giving him a Braille keyboard would help him do it

work. I need copies and more copies. It is so much more efficient.

though I am a great fan of braille I dont recommend a braille key board.

As far as games are concerned I have just managed to borrow a braille

scrabble from Sam, if your son wants to play lets find some time.

How do I get Kurzweil 1000 working with JAWS installed on the
computer? There are some books in .kes format which I need to read
urgently. Kurzweil opens allright, but then it either slows down
drastically or fails to read anything. Is it because of JAWS running
along side? The keystrokes on the numerical pad are not working
either.
There must surely be a method which I have not yet figured out. Please
help. Also, is there a way in which .kes format books can be converted
to word?

no, no problems here. earlier i faced a challenge as i even
uninstalled the latest firefox, but after they released the update to
the add on, it is working seemlessly. though they definitely have
messed up the dialoguebox dealing with the addons. you might want
someone sighted to have a look at that dialoguebox.

pressed for this purpose, the message immiediately jumps to the
previous or the next mails.  Only when the messages are forwarded to

I really like Ms. Geeta's comment, For an accomplished cane user, I
think this device adds little value, because so far, whatever has
been described about this device does not make it in anyway more
advance than what we would expect it at this stage. The only great
advantage could be that you won't have to use a stick. But that is not
a problem for me. I love my stick. Any new device will be more
meaningful only when it is able to give me proper discription of the
obstical on time. I think one day, research in this direction would
fulfill this expectation. Anyhow, these are my personal views; and
