Re: [AI] Broadband – Internet Rates May Go Up by 30% as DoT Decides to levy Fee on it in Unified Licence
after the limits set on sms services ,that is limiting the number of free messages to not more than 200 per day ,govt tried to regulate the cheaper or less expensive means of communication. mainly because govt was being criticized for its scams ,scandals ,etc. this was done through jokes and also the social movements of anna and baba ramdev used these means very well. now ,through mobile apps like what'sapp ,the govt fears the same things might repeat ,so may b by some silly excuse or explanation ,the govt is trying to control and make sure everyone is not able to afford such services. On 9/2/13, Kannan. C kankal...@gmail.com wrote: Broadband – Internet Rates May Go Up by 30% as DoT Decides to levy Fee on it in Unified Licence by Sanjay Bafna on August 31, 2013 12:26 pm | General 35 Comments Using the Internet or Broadband may become costlier up to 30% as the Department of Telecom changed its rules of telecom licences agreement bringing revenue from Internet or Broadband services under its cess net. Internet - Broadband Earlier the initial version of the Unified Licence which was introduced on August 2,2013 , DoT had exempted Internet – Broadband services revenue from adjusted gross revenue (AGR) – part of telecom company’s earnings on which annual licence fee is levied. But now DoT issued corrigendum to this new telecom licences agreement (Unified Licence) bringing revenue from these services under its cess net. Corrigendum for Internet Services Under Unified Licence notified by the DoT It had said that AGR will be calculated after deducting revenue from pure Internet (access and content) services, sales tax paid to the government and roaming revenue paid to other operators from the total revenue earned by telecom service providers. However, in the corrigendum on calculation of AGR DoT has mentioned ”Revenue from Pure Internet Service under heading B-Deduct stands deleted.” Under the new Unified licences telecom operators, including Internet services providers, will have to pay uniform licence fee of 8 per cent annually on AGR. The Internet Service Providers Association of India has warned the step would lead to hike in consumer rates by up to 30%. Mr. Rajesh Chharia, President, ISPAI said ”the move is a major setback in broadband penetration, especially in rural India, as there will be cascading effect and license fee on multi point will increase broadband price by 30 per cent”. All new telecom services providers are required to take Unified Licence, while as of now there would be no effect on existing companies because will have to migrate to the new licence on expiry of their permits for continuing their services. -- With care and regards, Kannan ... NEW DELHI: Yasin Bhatkal, the founder of Indian Mujahideen, has been arrested by Indian agencies from the India-Nepal border on Wednesday night after being on the run for over five years. Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday confirmed his arrest by the intelligence agencies near India-Nepal border. Yasin Bhatkal is at present in the custody of Bihar Police and is being interrogated, Shinde told reporters. The Union home minister refused to disclose the identity of agencies involved in the arrest. According to sources, IB and other Indian agencies took Yasin Bhatkal in custody at Sonauli border of Nepal near Gorakhpur. 30-year-old Yasin Bhatkal, one of India's most-wanted terrorists, was picked up by security agencies along with another IM leader Akhtar, official sources said. Sources say special teams had been camping in Darbhanga in Bihar for some time for his arrest as RAW and IB played a crucial role in tracing his whereabouts. A special cell of Delhi Police was also near the Bihar-Nepal border since last one week anticipating the arrest. According to reports, the NSA has met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and briefed him about the arrest of Bhatkal. Yasin Bhatkal is accused of masterminding several terror strikes including Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad blasts. His real name is Ahmad Zarar Siddi Bappa. He is also known by the alias Shahrukh. Yasin Bhatkal's arrest comes close on the heels of arrest of another top terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda. (With inputs from PTI) VC Gupta. Re: [AI] In a Kerala hamlet, eye donation is a ritual practised by all, By Shaju Philip
wow! this is truely awesome. it only enhances my respect and fascination for the people of karala in general. what is it about them... can it be anything other than comunist influence?? i may sound really biased, but the kind of rational awairness and sensibility karalites possess is truely noticible in almost every karalite i've met and known so far. i don't mean to say that non-karalites dont possess it. of course that would be stupid. all i'm saying is that in karala it is extremely visible. this is just personal opinion that ive dared to share publically. because i'm generally always in awe and respect of the machinery of the state. On 9/1/13, avinash shahi shahi88avin...@gmail.com wrote: New Delhi, Sun Sep 01 2013, 00:17 hrs http://www.indianexpress.com/news/the-village-with-a-vision/1162473/0 Cherukulathur village in Kerala's Kozhikode district has achieved an unusual and noble landmark — 100 eye donations in 10 years. In this hamlet of 650 homes, it has been a ritual since 2003 to donate the eyes of a dead villager to two blind persons, each getting one eye. Over the last 10 years, some 100 pairs of eyes have been donated, corresponding to 100 deaths in the same period. It has benefited 206 people, none from Cherukulathur though, as the village doesn't have a single blind person. Eye harvesting in Cherukulathur has its beginnings in blood donation. In the 1980s, patients from the village found it difficult to get blood in the government hospital. A group of villagers discussed the issue at TP Govidankutty Memorial Library, a vibrant library-cum-reading room in the village. They decided to build their own blood group directory, which would have details of blood groups of all the men of Cherukulathur. This would help not just fellow villagers in times of need, but patients from other villages, too, who would be treated at the government hospital 19 km away. So, whenever a patient needed blood, the hospital would direct his or her relatives to the village. But donating blood was not enough for the good samaritans of Cherukulathur. TM Chandrasekharan, the secretary of TP Govidankutty Memorial Library, says, Over time, people realised that they should donate beyond blood. But they did not know what. It was around this time, in 1996, that P Chathukutty, a social leader in the village, organised a camp where villagers pledged to donate their eyes. Months later, Chathukutty died, and became the first eye donor. Thus, the village intellectuals who would meet at TP Govidankutty Memorial Library decided that they would start donating eyes. But it was not easy to convince villagers to donate their eyes. Between 1996 and 2003, only four pairs of eyes were donated in the village. A more systematic and coordinated approach was needed to convert Cherukulathur into a complete eye-donation village, says Chandrasekharan. In 2003, doctors were brought in to conduct awareness programmes, and some 15 squads were formed for door-to-door campaigns. Chandrasekharan says over the last decade, the village has harvested eyes from all deaths. We don't have an eye bank. As soon as there is a death in the village, someone known to the deceased informs the library office-bearers, who, in turn, alert the government hospital and two other private eye hospitals. We do not choose among the hospitals. The medical teams then come to our village to collect the eyes. Today, medical teams are a mobile phone call away, but in the years past, recalls library officer MT Raveendran, villagers would stand at every junction to flag down the teams. Such was their determination that even rains or odd hours would not stop us from donating a corpse's eye.'' Cherukulathur's story is well-known in nearby districts, and library office-bearers are often invited to speak at eye donation awareness programmes in north Kerala. Buoyed by their eye donation story, some villagers now want to donate their bodies. Fifteen persons have given their written agreement to the forensic department of the medical college in Kozhikode, expressing their willingness to donate bodies for medical studies. Next month, TP Govidankutty library plans to organise a meeting to honour the families of the 100 donors who have made Cherukulathur a village with a vision. -- Avinash Shahi M.Phil Research Scholar Centre for The Study of Law and Governance Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi India Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe. Astonishing pictures of tragic Cheng Xiangtao, 26 - born blind and mentally disabled - chained by his ankle to his cave in remote Chengling village, Henan province, have outraged the country. Dad Cheng Yuanchao, 70, abandoned his son after losing his home and going to live with his daughters. Visit: Cheng Yuanchao during one of his three daily visits to see Cheng Xiangtao, who is covered in dirt and dust Visit: Cheng Yuanchao during one of his three daily visits to see Cheng Xiangtao, who is covered in dirt and dust Cheng Xiangtao, 26, was born blind and mentally disabled - and must now live out his life in remote Chengling 'I have no home of my own now and nowhere to house my son. This is the best I can do. I visit him three times a day with food and water so he is never hungry of thirsty. 'The chain is there only so he doesn't run off and hurt himself,' he claimed. 'I'm not a wealthy man and we've never been able to afford doctors who might have been able to help him. Under lock and key: Cheng Xiangtao's father insists that this is the best way to care for his son... while he has moved in with his daughters The miserable existence of Cheng Xiangtao has been met with outrage throughout his native China 'There just isn't anywhere else for him to go. I don't like to see him like this but I have no choice. 'He won't wear clothes and if I don't put the chain on he runs around hurting himself,' he added. But the pictures have shocked Chinese commentators after they appeared on social media. 'It is appalling. Is this the best his father and his village can do? Re: [AI] Announcement at airports
i think mr george has asked a pertinant question. before taking any immediate action it must be established whether all airports r doing this with all airlines following the same policy. i have no legal knowledge but i still think it must be varified whether this new norm or system is an official mandate or some general theory of particular staff members at the airport. i'm not doubting the news, but i'm slightly reluctant to believe that announcements would be entirely banned in the name of noise polution. would it be possible for any1 to insist on some authentic official source claiming the same?? again, i'm not sure if my concern is vallid. its just a quary because i think your gonna need the official source to fight the cause in the 1st place. best, Shireen. Re: [AI] In a Kerala hamlet, eye donation is a ritual practised by all, By Shaju Philip
The eye donation, blood donation, etc. can not be told as the influence of comunism. But because of the continues awareness programmes throughout Kerala. The different parties also went in agreement with this program and the followewers of different parties turnd in huge numbers in the donation camps to make it a grand success. different clubs and organisations felt that the biggest charity they could do would be donating blood, eye, and organs. I know a Lion who recently honoured blood 25 times in last 10 years. He also have a group of 75 Lions ever ready to donate blood. recently one of my friends died following a head injury. His family members donated his eye, skin and kidnies. They also wanted to donate heart and liver. But could not do so because the persons wre not readily available. People are doing all these with out recieving any monitory benafit but only the prayers. Recently a team has started in kerala to make people available for kidny donation. Quite few number, including business men, have already donated their kidnies! Subject: Re: [AI] In a Kerala hamlet, eye donation is a ritual practised by all, By Shaju Philip wow! this is truely awesome. it only enhances my respect and fascination for the people of karala in general. what is it about them... can it be anything other than comunist influence?? i may sound really biased, but the kind of rational awairness and sensibility karalites possess is truely noticible in almost every karalite i've met and known so far. i don't mean to say that non-karalites dont possess it. of course that would be stupid. all i'm saying is that in karala it is extremely visible. this is just personal opinion that ive dared to share publically. because i'm generally always in awe and respect of the machinery of the state. Today, medical teams are a mobile phone call away, but in the years past, recalls library officer MT Raveendran, villagers would stand at every junction to flag down the teams.

oh. ok. so it is official. thanx for the news link. sure we have enough reason to fight for it. especially since they've been considerate enough to put display screenes all over the place. it wont be long before they start implementing the same for trains as well. [AI] regarding detailed account statement of onlinesbi
Hello, I would like to know about the way to obtain detailed account statement using onlinesbi. I am able to view and download the account statement using the option provided in the sbi netbanking but not able to view the detail of the transaction such as, if someone has deposited the cash in my account and if the said entry has been reflected in my account statement as cash deposit self, how do I know the details of the bank through which said money had been deposited. How do I view such detail online after login to my net banking of sbi? i had even tried clicking on the tab enquiry and submited the date range and transaction amount but still same result i.e. only mention of cash deposit self. so how do i get more detail about this transaction online? Your reply is kindly awaited. -- Regards, Mukesh jain Email: mukesh.jai...@gmail.com muk...@mukeshjain.org mailing list run by me (info page): http://mail.mukeshjain.org/mailman/listinfo website: www.mukeshjain.org Skype: mukeshjain211 Mob: 09977165123 Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them; but do not let them master you. Normal as in, if someone is physically fit or is married . . . whatever their thinking may be, they will be considered normal and they will be given importance. But, if there is disability . . . then this is considered wrong and there is no acceptance from society . . . (D01, 30 years, visual impairment) Social norms in India are influenced by values such as pro- ductivity, the right to private property, and patriarchy (Ahmed-Ghosh, 2004). Much is made of the rule of law, the institution of marriage (Goel, 2005), the family as a social unit, and the importance of religion. The family—able-bodied, heterosexual, and engaged in socially acceptable liveli- hoods—is the fundamental social unit. The history of the Indian women’s movement has been one of focus on poverty, caste, and employment, issues such as dowry and sati, popu- lation control and female feticide, sexuality, and domestic violence. Its agenda has not, generally, included disability. Critical feminist analysis of disability in India was initiated by, among others, Renu Addlakha (Addlakha, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2005, 2006; Addlakha Das, 2001; Davar, 1999; Dhanda, 2000; Ghai, 2002a, 2002b; Hans, 2003). These fem- inist scholars challenged the disability movement and the women’s movement. An idea common in India is that disability represents a personal flaw. Able-bodied people are the “corporeal stan- dard” (Kumari, 2009), and—from a moral perspective— disability arises as a consequence of karmic misdeeds: Impairments are deserved and intrinsically punitive. Two other perspectives on disability are also common. From a charity or welfare perspective, disability speaks to an idea of victimhood with which campaigners against violence against women are familiar. The individual with disability deserves sympathy and is dependent on the assistance of others. From a biomedical or rehabilitative perspective, disability encom- passes defects that require clinical intervention. Pervasive as they are, these models are outmoded in disability discourse. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities (UN CRPD) recognizes that disability can be seen as a collection of hindrances to participation in soci- ety, a product of the interaction between people with impair- ments, attitudinal, and environmental barriers. This model locates disability in relation to structures rather than with the individual. A rights-based model broadens this position by promoting acceptance of diversity through nondiscrimi- nating environments and inclusive social processes, to level the playing field by tackling the visible privileges of the able-bodied. Finally, in a cultural model, disability repre- sents a pervasive system that, through stigmatization of impairment, informs our notions of self, family, society, and sexuality. Garland-Thomson argues that the system defines XXX10.1177/2158244013499144SAGE OpenDaruwalla et al. research-article2013 1 Society for Nutrition, Education, and Health Action, Mumbai, India 2 UCL, London, UK Corresponding Author: David Osrin, UCL Institute for Global Health, Institute of Child Health, 30 Guilford Street, London WC1N 1EH, UK.
