Re: [AI] Face Book!
This is what I hate with our society. We, most of us wanting everything for free. I honestly feel, nothing is free in life. I usually say, life is nothing but give and take. Not only In the shape of money or in some other kind. And if you think of my formula deeply, you may realize it. As per my case, this formula works out well in all areas. Between friends, family, even with virtual friends. I do agree there are ways to reach the facebook in various kinds. But while we prefer to reach it in a short way, we have to spare something from our side. If you're prepared to go in your own way, it's fine. Noone is pulling you out to come to the short way. Lol. OK, as per this client, it's something like an insteant messenger, just install it, and forget about logging into your facebook through website. As the above description said, you can perform most of the facebook options from your desktop or laptop itself. -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of Siddalingeshwar Ingalagi Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2013 4:17 PM To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerningthe disabled. i agree with raaj sir that it will be our own disicion that weather we want to purchase or not, but let me clear that facebook itself is quite accessible with the popular screen reader like jaws or NVDA, or ulternatively m.facebook is also quite simple and easy to use. Now a days chatting features are also supported by m facebook and if needed, skype can also be act as the facebook mesenger . So I don't thing that one must spent 39 $ for only 1 year subscription for this apps if we have the professional solution which is the main site itself! During the symbion era, why I purchase talks? Because in that time only the talks or mobile speak was there on the market by using we could navigate our phone quite independently. Sorry, but unfortunately I've also learn some thing from you. What I learned that e mail cann't recognize any html code you've place for better looking. You place nbsp or similar to center the text, but my browser display as it is as it should center the text depending how much nbsp you have placed. But in some website it will definitely work as you've expected. Please visit http://www.unionbankofindia.co.in/personal_TalkingATMs.aspx to download accessible pdf document having a complete list. State names are given heading style for easy navigation and location details are in table format. Currently Union Bank is deploying talking ATMs at a large scale. ATMs from three ATM vendors NCR, Diebold and Wincor-AGS are upgraded with talking functionality for the blind. Good locations are present in the list. Few test audits bank has done at locations like Badlapur, Dombivili, Airoli, Kurla, Delhi, Mumbai, Indore, Baroda, Thane, Ernakulum, etc. with the help of individuals and staff. Friends, in my mails dated 15 and 26 September 2013, I mentioned a key point of actual usage of talking feature at ATM can only confirm it is working fine. So requesting list members to try out talking ATMs set up by banks like Union bank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, etc. One more very very key point friends I wish to put across is that banks have concern on utilization of talking ATMs by blind persons after setting up. Banks top management looks for usage data. So I again urge members to use talking ATMs and increase usage if we want more and more such ATMs. Please find time and explore talking ATMs near to you. Also help Union bank in improving / correcting ATM location addresses and your feedback after usage. You can give feedback on Union Bank of India talking ATMs to mail id pran...@gmail.com I am preparing excel format of the talking ATMs list which will be very useful for searching locations of your choice by filtering. Also I will write about few key locations in the list from tomorrow. Once again urging all to start utilizing talking ATMs. Once usage will increase, there will be more demand and so more pressure on other public and private sector banks to install talking ATMs. Ultimately I am dreaming of a day when we will have nearest ATM available to us as a talking ATM. Dear All, Greetings from Blind Graduates' Forum of India (BGFI)! This month, we invite you all to join in the Readers' Day Celebration and Felicitation of New Blind Graduates. Continuing our tradition of celebrating the Readers Day in October, we will express our appreciation and gratitude to readers who have been selflessly opening up the printed world to us. To be able to achieve a Graduate's degree from a college / university despite visual limitations and the challenges that blindness brings along is commendable indeed! Such effort needs recognition and applauds. We, at BGFI would like to felicitate such new Graduates who have completed their Graduation in the year 2013 and wish them the very best as they take the next step toward achieving their career goals. This will be followed by an interaction between the people present. Depending upon the availability of time, whoever wishes to, will be allowed an opportunity to showcase their talents by performing short entertainment items like songs, skits etc. So, come join us in cheering, appreciating the readers and giving the graduates a pat on their back!
