[AI] Girls with disabilities to get cricket coaching

2013-11-21 Thread avinash shahi
So hopefully We'll have National Tournament of Cricket played by blind
women in the years to come.
Certainly this innitiative, taken by VDCA is welcome one!
And down the ten years from now probably World cup?
VADODARA: The disabled girls from Vadodara will soon be able to play
professional cricket and participate in tournaments.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/vadodara/Girls-with-disabilities-to-get-cricket-coaching/articleshow/26114442.cms
The Baroda Disabled Cricket Association (BDCA) has decided to coach
disabled girls in cricket and organize regular tournaments. BDCA
already has a team of disabled boys who participate in cricket
tournaments. The camp for coaching disabled girls may take off this
Sunday at Gujarat Refinery Ground.

There are many talented disabled girls who can do well in cricket. We
decided to start special coaching camps for them so that they too can
participate in cricket tournaments. It will do wonders to their
confidence, said Nitendra Singh, chairman of BDCA and coach of men's
disabled national team.

Over a dozen disabled girls from the city have already approached us
and we are expecting the numbers to go up in coming weeks, Singh told
TOI. The disabled girls will also be trained in umpiring and scoring
so that they can take up professional jobs and support themselves and
their families.

The training camp will be held twice a week and Singh is expecting
more applications from disabled girls from other districts too. Once
the girls are trained, we will organize disabled girls' cricket
tournament in the city and later make efforts to organize tournaments
at higher level, Singh added.

Dear All,

It gives us great
pleasure in sharing this important information which will help you all
in near future.

IDBI Bank has given the appointment order for the post
of Probationary Officer from 1st December 2013 to Mr Jeevan Chavan
totally blind person, which was previously not done due to various
reasons.

Mr Jeevan Chavan after clearing written and oral interviews
from IBPS 2 had opted for IDBI Bank for posting. During his document
verification, when it was noticed that he is a visually challenged
person i.e. totally blind, his case was not process further by the bank
officials. The officials/management of IDBI bank clearly said As per
the policy of the IDBI Bank we do not appoint totally blind persons.
Mr. Chavan then contacted NAB India Employment Department and the matter
was taken further. NAB officials went personally to the bank and also
sent several letters but in vain. The only reply received was THE POST
IS IDENTIFIED FOR LOW VISION and hence the bank was unable to appoint a
totally blind person.

Finally, NAB India presented the case to Office
of Chief Commissioner of Disability, New Delhi and a complaint was
filed. The hearing was on 9th Sept, 2013. The Chief Commissioner of
Disability, Shri Prasannakumar Pincha gave a landmark judgement to the
bank that the totally blind person should be appointed within two months
of the order and also the bank should strictly adhere to the
guidelines/circulars.

This is indeed a landmark judgment not for an
individual or organisation but an illustration to all those who avoid
appointing totally blind persons citing different reasons.

It’s surprising that IDBI didn’t take a cognizance of person who

But, it's been while since sir has retired from the organisation.

2013-11-21 Thread NAB - Department of Employment
  Dear All,

We have been given to understand by Professor and Head
Client Relations, Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS)
regarding some irregularities happening while using the services of

We would
like to inform the candidates who are enrolling/appearing for the
Examination conducted by IBPS to ensure the following:

1. Visually
Impaired Candidates should not bring as scribe such individuals who are
also appearing in the same examination

2. Visually Impaired Candidates
must indicate that they intend to use the services of scribe while
registering online and only such candidates will be allowed to use the
scribe on the day of examination.

3. Visually Impaired Candidates must
ensure that they have relevant medical certificates to justify their use
of scribe and in the event of detection at any stage that they are not
eligible to use the services of scribe, their candidature will be
cancelled.

Strict complaince of the above is expected from the Visually
Challenged Persons, who may like to utilise the oppourtunity relating to
Banking jobs, to avoid inconvenience and objection.

I was working with call centre as a team leader.
My celery was also excellent.
But I was not some what satisfied with my work so left the job.
I was active in share market so after living job I started full time
trading.
Now I earn more then I was earning in my previous job.
Trading doesn't need sight only brain.
Now I can use facebook any time.
Now I can go anywhere without asking anyone.
In fact now I can control my life without losing anything.
I am not against job. But to get job is not everything.
Generally we believe that being visually impaired we need safe job.
But in my view it is not true.
We should do the thing in witch we are good.
Being blind we can't do everything but certainly we can do many great
things with our life.
We just need to understand our talent and skill.

[AI] Material for IBPS: recommended sources?

Hi Members,

The question is to all those who have appeared for IBPS in past and
have cracked it or plan to appear this time. What are the good sources
for material on English, Reasoning, General Awareness, and other
subjects excluding the particular discipline for which the candidate
is applying?

I would request people to drop an email off the list to me at:

Great news indeed.
One suggestion I would have is to take up the issue of mobility and
assistive technology. Already, someone has suggested accessibility of
smartphones, they can be quite handy as accessibility guides and also
many other things. Besides that there is the traditional whitekane and
a number of other accessories that can enhance mobility for the
visually challenged.

I believe AI convention should try to build focused groups and try to create

Most of the technology related subjects will be anyway dealt with during the
TechShare conference.
So, it will be very worthwhile if we could discuss implementation and
mainstreaming strategies as most of us are already in the position and
capacity of augmenting change and development as leaders.
groups could be formed to address different issues for different regions.
University teachers for example could form one group to forster education,
employment, technology and UGC related matters.
I am sure Bankers, Government Officers and other experts could form their
focused groups.
Good time should be spent on strategy formulation.
I can make a presentation on strategy formulation for 30 minutes.

[AI] 'Blindness is not a curse', Political officer in the US embassy

2013-11-21 Thread avinash shahi
I'm eager to listen to Mariyam Cementwala one day in JNU. probably we
can plann a talk?
given her stature worth-calling on campus for learning from her experience.
http://newindianexpress.com/cities/hyderabad/Blindness-is-not-a-curse/2013/11/22/article1904368.ece

Political officer in the US embassy in New Delhi Mariyam Cementwala
arriving at Devnar Foundation for the Blind at Begumpet in Hyderabad
on Thursday for an interactive programme with students. (A Suresh
Kumar | EPS) “
Lack of sight is not all a curse, it is the enormous capacity within
us which can help us to achieve our goals,” said Mariyam Cementwala,
political officer at the US embassy in New Delhi, in an address to
visually challenged students at Devnar Foundation for the Blind here
on Thursday.

Cementwala, a visually challenged, is a foreign service officer in the
political unit of the US embassy and advises the US government on
strategic issues related to India.

“The rights of children, women and disabled are enshrined in the
Constitution and are legitimate. We should strive hard to use them in
real-time situations and prevent our visual impairment from becoming
an impediment,” she pointed out.

Highlighting that there are umpteen opportunities for everyone, she
said, “The situation of visually-impaired persons is not as bad as it
was previously. It has improved and one needs to grab the
opportunities emerging from them. Do not look towards the US or other
western countries for opportunities.”

Around 200 visually-challenged children in the age groups of 14 and 18
years participated in the programme. Despite being blind, Cementwala
is known for her participation in human rights movements
internationally. She is also known for her wide knowledge of social
and political landscape of India, and for her passion for languages.

2013-11-21 Thread avinash shahi
By PTI - WASHINGTON
Women who take the contraceptive pill for more than three years are
twice as likely to suffer from glaucoma, a leading cause of blindness,
a new study has warrned.
http://newindianexpress.com/lifestyle/health/Contraceptive-pill-may-double-risk-of-blindness/2013/11/19/article1899759.ece

Researchers caution gynaecologists and ophthalmologists to be aware of
the fact that oral contraceptives might play a role in glaucomatous
diseases, and inform patients to have their eyes screened for glaucoma
if they also have other risk factors.

Women who have taken oral contraceptives for three or more years are
twice as likely to suffer from glaucoma which affects nearly 60
million worldwide, they said.

The study - conducted by researchers at University of California, San
Francisco, Duke University School of Medicine and Third Affiliated
Hospital of Nanchang University, Nanchang, China - is the first to
establish an increased risk of glaucoma in women who have used oral
contraceptives for three or more years.

The research included 3,406 female participants aged 40 years or older
from across the US who completed the survey's vision and reproductive
health questionnaire and underwent eye exams.

The study found that females who had used oral contraceptives, no
matter which kind, for longer than three years are 2.05 times more
likely to also report that they have the diagnosis of glaucoma.

The results of the study do not speak directly to the causative effect
of oral contraceptives on the development of glaucoma, researchers
said.

It indicates that long-term use of oral contraceptives might be a
potential risk factor for glaucoma, and may be considered as part of
the risk profile for a patient together with other existing risk
factors.

These include factors such as ethnicity, family history of glaucoma,
history of increased eye pressure or existing visual field defects.

Previous studies have shown that oestrogen may play a significant role
in the pathogenesis of glaucoma.

This study should be an impetus for future research to prove the
cause and effect of oral contraceptives and glaucoma, said Shan Lin,
lead researcher and professor of clinical ophthalmology at the
University of California San Francisco.

At this point, women who have taken oral contraceptives for three or
more years should be screened for glaucoma and followed closely by an
ophthalmologist, especially if they have any other existing risk
factors, said Lin.

The study was presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy
of Ophthalmology in New Orleans.

Re: [AI] Announcing the AI convention dates

2013-11-21 Thread Alok Kaushik

Hi Neeraj,
Thanks for your response. If you could mention specific points that may need
elaboration / clarification then I will be able to give more focused
responses. In any case I am putting down some more of my thoughts to add to
the details, if it helps.

Suggestion is based on a much broader perspective and with a long term
horizon in view. It is intended to extend enabling means of a better life to
which some of us are fortunate to have. Many organizations and individuals
are already working with that underlying objective. This suggestion is
primarily to take that effort to greater scale, and enable an / or guide
motivated individuals within our community to achieve it.

It is understandable that only a small part of the total group strength may
be looking to take up such a role / initiative, and that is why we may need
a larger gathering of aware individuals to finally have a handful of such
new leaders. It is my firm belief that even if only a small number of
individuals may be the target audience of this, it could have a significant
impact in a few years timeframe.

Since individuals come from different backgrounds and have different levels
of knowledge / awareness / expertise of various aspects of successfully
running such initiatives, if we can create a pool of mentors and guides who
are experienced in various associated fields it could be a real enabler.
Also, it would allow individuals within our community to realize a sense of
fulfilment, while generating employment, extending help to many others, and
possibly touching upon several new focus areas.

Thanks.
Alok

Dear Mr. Harish,
Here is my suggestion. This idea can be further refined by discussing with
people experienced in this area.

Topic: Social entrepreneurship in the area of accessibility / social
sensetization / counselling / rehabilitation / improving quality of life

Background:
There may be several individuals, like me, who are more than willing to
work in the social domain or possibly make it as as a key purpose in their
lives. I think that it is extremely important to help in enabling this
segment of individuals to take a significant step in overall scalability.

This could greatly enhance geographical reach as well as cater to many
more aspects.

Following points / aspects can be covered in this regard.
- Providing informational guidance regarding setting up a social
entrepreneurship venture, ongoing operations and compliance, etc.
- Creating a pool of individuals who are looking to work full time or part
time in this area and have a drive to make a positive contribution. This
can be for individuals who are looking at this as an employment
opportunity, as well as for those who see this as something much more than
employment.
- Create a pool of mentors and guides who can provide a need based
guidance during various stages of such a venture.
- Create a platform / formal or informal group where all such individuals
can connect and get started.

In many cases people may be given a generic advice of getting associated
with one of the existing organizations. While this could work for many
cases, I see following limitations in that.
- Any individual who has such an inner drive is very likely to have an
idea about what and how he / she may want to do, which may not be what the
nearby organizations may be doing.
- Geographical location of such organizations may be a limitations for
many individuals.
- Individuals who are already leading these organizations and have
established certain way of functioning may not appreciate any significant
change in it.
- Individuals would be functioning at different levels and would have
different types of expertise, which may not be satisfactorily used.

- It is not a scalable approach.

Thanks.
Alok

Re: [AI] Announcing the AI convention dates

2013-11-21 Thread Rajasekhar

Subject: [AI] Reference material available: First workshop on
 AccessibleBanking for the Blind

 Dear all,
The first workshop on accessible banking for the blind was conducted by
Assistive Technology Helpline of NAB Delhi on 9 November 2013.
The response to the workshop was extremely enthusiastic and great
 feedback
has been since received from the participants.
National Association for the Blind Delhi Helpline hopes to conduct this
workshop on a regular basis. We will soon announce the date for the next
workshop which we are sure will be even better incorporating all the
 suggestions received so far.

The primary objective of this workshop is to encourage visually impaired
persons to make use of the new channels of banking namely online
 banking,
mobile banking and talking ATMs. We are trying to achieve this objective
 by
giving essential information, making demonstrations of use of new banking
channels with assistive technology and an providing an opportunity to
 have
a first-hand experience of independence in banking. Running to different
offices for payment of utility bills, purchasing of tickets etc. is
difficult for visually impaired persons due to the inaccessibility of the
transport system and the infrastructure. Visually impaired persons can do
all such daily chores from the comfort of their homes if they take
 advantage
 of the new banking channels.

In this first workshop of its kind the following subjects were covered.
 1. Use of Talking ATM
 2. Use of online banking for common tasks such as balance enquiry,
 funds transfer, bill payment etc.
 3. Independent handling of bank cheques using innovative printing
 templates
 4. Status of accessibility of Mobile banking
 5. Essential information about use of credit cards
 6. Safe banking tips
 7. Hands-on experience of the Union Bank Talking ATM

Many participants also made use of the opportunity to open a bank account
with Union Bank. The bank officers filled up the forms and some of them
 were
even provided start-up kit consisting of the ATM and online banking
 details
 on the spot.

This workshop was facilitated by young visually impaired bankers Mr.
 Yogesh
Taneja Mr. Rahul Gambhir who are working as assistant Manager with
 Union
Bank of India and yours truly. It is commendable that Yogesh and Rahul
 are
doing their best to bring more comfort in the lives of other visually
impaired persons besides handling tough jobs.

The 61 MB audio recording of this workshop can be downloaded from this
 link:

 https://www.wuala.com/prashant.rv/Accessible_Banking/?key=EONQTRHrBl5C
You can also download a 31 MB compressed folder consisting of audio
 manual
of the Talking ATM, Cheque printing templates, safe banking tips and
 photos
 from the above link.

If clicking on above link does not work, please carefully copy and paste
 the
complete link text in the address bar of your browser. Very often the
 links
are broken into two or more lines by the email clients.
Lastly we thank all the participants for their cooperation and hope that
 you
will now indulge in online banking with more confidence.

Re: [AI] procedure to learn signature:

2013-11-21 Thread Kannan. C

Signatures are good to be written.

As a saying goes, Slow and steady wins the race,
This is a slow process; But, Gain a marginal profit equal to that of
the sighted world.

Its better to learn alphabets in both small and Capital letters.
It will help in many ways.
From that, You can learn your Name-writing with kersive gestures.
Writing names is having subtle difference from writing signatures.
Its not necessary to write your name in signature.
Just two or three letters is enough.
But, it will bring issues legally.

First learn the letters by touch.
Use the alphabets available from shops in shapes for kids in plastic
or in any other material.

As soon as you feel that you have mastered the shapes of alphabets,
 Get stencils for writing practice.
Its available in all stationary shops.
Write with pencil first and get corrected from your sighted friends.
After you sense that your stencil writing is boring, start to write
the alphabets without stencils, first in pencil and in pen.
By this time, you would have gained a better confidence in writing
letters.
then write your name and others' names in block/capital letters and
learn kersive writing from your sighted friends or from the shorthand
tuters.

With care and regards,

[AI] forwarding the mail for suggestions from the list members. Fwd: regarding your private conversation on acccessindia.

2013-11-21 Thread shyam sharma
Hi friends,
In the afternoon today I have received a mail from a mentor of this
mailing list. In the mail Mr. Sunil sir said that I am engaged in some
private conversation on the list.
I have reviewed my all mails which I have sent here during this month
up to now but could not detect such activities from my side. I also
have replied him to ask if he has any example to show but he did not
reply.
I request all the members on the list to remind me my such faults if I
have done as of late.
Very important thing to note that I am not creating any conflict here
I am just raising this issue on the list cause it is a human right to
speak against the blames which I am sure about that I did not
committed.
It is also freedom of speech to raise voice against injustice.
I am also forwarding the mail below which I have received from the mentors.

If I hurt anyone by my words then extremely sorry.
Thanks and hope for the positive responses instead of getting any
intimation or removal from the list.

Sorry.
Best Regards:
Shyam

Subject: Re: [AI] Announcing the AI convention dates

Dear Mr. Harish,
Here is my suggestion. This idea can be further refined by discussing with
people experienced in this area.

Topic: Social entrepreneurship in the area of accessibility / social
sensetization / counselling / rehabilitation / improving quality of life

Background:
There may be several individuals, like me, who are more than willing to work in
the social domain or possibly make it as as a key purpose in their lives. I
think that it is extremely important to help in enabling this segment of
individuals to take a significant step in overall scalability.

This could greatly enhance geographical reach as well as cater to many more
aspects.

Following points / aspects can be covered in this regard.
- Providing informational guidance regarding setting up a social
entrepreneurship venture, ongoing operations and compliance, etc.
- Creating a pool of individuals who are looking to work full time or part time
in this area and have a drive to make a positive contribution. This can be for
individuals who are looking at this as an employment opportunity, as well as
for those who see this as something much more than employment.
- Create a pool of mentors and guides who can provide a need based guidance
during various stages of such a venture.
- Create a platform / formal or informal group where all such individuals can
connect and get started.

In many cases people may be given a generic advice of getting associated with
one of the existing organizations. While this could work for many cases, I see
following limitations in that.
- Any individual who has such an inner drive is very likely to have an idea
about what and how he / she may want to do, which may not be what the nearby
organizations may be doing.
- Geographical location of such organizations may be a limitations for many
individuals.
- Individuals who are already leading these organizations and have established
certain way of functioning may not appreciate any significant change in it.
- Individuals would be functioning at different levels and would have different
types of expertise, which may not be satisfactorily used.
- It is not a scalable approach.

Thanks.
Alok

Re: [AI] Announcing the AI convention dates

2013-11-21 Thread prateek aggarwal
Dear harish sir and fellow access Indians, I’m excited to know that
the next convention is being organized in delhi. Considering that I’ve
not yet got the opportunity of attending the
AI convention before, I hope to be able to attend it this time.
Following are my suggestions for the topics:
1. Work from home opportunities for persons with visual impairment

Background:
With several progressive decisions and movements happening in the
area of education, the number of people taking higher professional
education is thankfully increasing. While many individuals from
different age groups from both the genders have been able to obtain
good professional education from reputed
colleges/universities/institutes, getting jobs is still a barier being
faced by many due to various reasons including negative attitude of
employers, lack of accessibility, mobility problems and protection
issues for girls amongst others.
As an answer to this, we get to see the trend of work outsourcing
increasing around us, which mushrooms butting opportunities for
interested folks to earn money in the comforts of their homes by using
the skills that they have, and hence removing the many attitudinal,
infrastructural, personal and societal barriers while being able to
live a dignified life.
Having worked as a freelancer for over 3 years, i can tell out of my
personal experience that there are opportunities available for
different skills/professions including programming, writing, data
entry, internet marketing, training, audio production/editing,
translating, transcribing etc. one can choose according to her
personal preferences/skillset and work in her own pace/convenience,
and this, in my personal opinion can be one of the biggest boons.

2. Internet radio as a medium of education and entertainment
With the internet becoming more and more affordable and accessible,
the number of fellow blind internet users has significantly increased
over the last few years. Many people, who used to listen terrestrial
radio stations and FM channels for information and entertainment have
found to be using internet for the purpose due to its wide coverage,
assortment of choices and on demand availability.
One of the trends that is fast developing is of internet radio, where
the content is delivered using live audio streaming using one of the
audio streaming programs, that can be heard from standard media
players available on computers as well as mobile phones.
With the available technologies, it is now possible for anyone to
share their knowledge with the world from their home computer
requiring no costly hardware, which in my view can prove highly
beneficial specially for we, blind and visually impaired individuals
as this would help obtaining information, entertainment, training and
having discussions on various important issues.
I remember producing live programming for retina india radio, the live
webcasts on proof reading with mr. L subramani and the one that I’ve
hosted on android accessibility using the live internet streaming,
each of which were heard live by over 150 people from around the
world and have received tremendous responses.
A Platform can be setup where people can share their knowledge,
provide entertainment, get training, have discussions, ask and get
answers of their questions live with the help of internet radio, and
the convention can facilitate the discussion on the topic to find the
interested people while answering the technical requirements, benefits
and other details.

I propose the above 2 topics to be covered in the upcoming AI
convention, which in my opinion can prove beneficial for everyone in
finding new avenues for employment, education, entertainment and a
fuller life.
You can drop me emails off the list if there’s any clarification/help
needed from my end on any of the above topics.
Thank you and I’m looking forward for attending the convention.
Regards,
Prateek agarwal.

Signatures are good to be written.

As a saying goes, Slow and steady wins the race,
This is a slow process; But, Gain a marginal profit equal to that of the
sighted world.

Use the alphabets available from shops in shapes for kids in plastic or in
any other material.
As soon as you feel that you have mastered the shapes of alphabets,
  Get stencils for writing practice.
Its available in all stationary shops.
Write with pencil first and get corrected from your sighted friends.
After you sense that your stencil writing is boring, start to write the
alphabets without stencils, first in pencil and in pen.
By this time, you would have gained a better confidence in writing
letters.
then write your name and others' names in block/capital letters and learn
kersive writing from your sighted friends or from the shorthand tuters.

With care and regards,

I will send to you by private mail your post which triggered the intervention
of the mentor.

Firstly, please get this correct, the mentor is not picking on your mistakes
and shaming you in a public platform. They are engaging with members in a
private conversation where it is necessary to bring about correction.

Try to figure out your mistake and try not to repeat it again.

Very often, we don't realise our mistake unless someone points it out. One can
of course look the other way and ignore. This would not do you any good.

Trust, our mentors are doing a very good job and it is providing a very useful
service. If you choose not to get any intervention from the mentors, let me
know. It will be respected.

Please do realise, this is a service of passion and this is not their whole
time job. You will have to give enough time to revert back for your query.

Finally, you should have send your displeasure about any intervention of the
mentor or even a decision of mine in a private mail to me rather pollute the
list with unwarranted traffic. This is what is expected from members as per the
list guidelines which we post time to time.

[AI] Moto G is Impressive Enough to Change India’s Smartphone Landscape

Moto G is Impressive Enough to Change India’s Smartphone Landscape
by Rudradeep Biswas on November 21, 2013 1:23 pm | Editorial 14 Comments
Google, once a search engine is now well established software and
hardware maker is going to bring affordable Android smartphone to
developing nations, from its own handset manufacturing unit, Motorola
which was acquired by Google in 2011.

moto-G-India
Motorola shrinked its handset business in India by that time and now
Google-owned Motorola is all set to takeover its market position.
Motorola is going to launch its much-hyped affordable Moto G in India in
coming days. In US Moto G is selling for $179 (8GB) and $199 (16GB).
That is translated into INR 11,000 and INR 12,500 approx. respectively.

Under the hood:
Motorola keeps Moto G simple. It ships with Android 4.3 in Brazil and
Europe but Motorola promised a Kitkat 4.4 update by 2014. As Indian
launch is by January 2014, we hope Moto G might be the first handsets
with KitKat in the country.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with quad core 1.2GHz
Cortex A7 processor, Andreno 305 GPU and 1GB RAM. Its 4.5 inch display
with 720 x 1280p has 326 ppi and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
There is no microSD slot (like all Nexus phones) but it comes in 8/16GB
storage capacity.
There are some usual features: 5MP rear camera with LED flash, video
recording at 720p, front 1.3MP shooter, HSPA+ 21Mbps, Bluetooth v4.0,
WiFi, WiFi hotspot, active noise cancellation mic, 3.5 mm audio jack,
GPS via A-GPS GLONASS, accelerometer, compass, proximity sensor and
Li-Ion 2070 mAh battery. It misses NFC but who is using it in India.
It’s little bulky at 143gm. Google will offer 50GB Drive storage as Cloud.
Color is the in-thing in smartphone arena and Motorola is offerimg
several back panels – blue, teal, red, yellow, purple, white, and black
covers, as well as rugged versions and flip-style portfolio covers for
the Moto G (the company says there are 19 options in total).Design wise
it looks alike earlier launched Motorola’s flagship Moto X.
Many argue that Indian smartphone market is dominated by Samsung and
other Indian brands like Micromax, Karbonn, Lava, Xolo and others; and
thus Motorola’s re-entry will not be a easy route. And there are already
many Android smartphones which are available for Rs 4000 or less. Even
at that price range there are several competitors like Samsung Galaxy
Trend, Micromax Canvas 4, Karbonn Titanium S5, Lenovo A850, Xolo Q1000S,
Lava 504q, Gionee Dream D1 – to name a few.
Then what Moto G stands for? It is a excellent vfm (value for money)
product which ensures impressive hardware and almost stock Android
experience with certainty of future Android upgrades, last thing many
manufacturers care about. Moto G may change the whole ecosystem of
Android devices in the country and reduce the OS fragmentation.
In a whole Moto G is a fantastic handset, which will give a lead for
Android over other OS as well as other Android brands. Last couple of
months Windows phones is doing better in India, thanks to Nokia
branding. Moto G may trigger a new vfm smartphone war and as of now Moto
G wins.
Tips: Using a low budget smartphone and thinking for a winter fest
upgrade at around 12-15K? Wait til January next year as Moto G lands in
India.
Special request to MTS India, the data focused operator, Moto G supports
1x- EvDo too. You already missed Diwali timeline to bring new smartphone
from Micromax. Why don’t you ask for Moto G single SIM variant or Dual
SIM variant with awesome data offerings (existing plans are not cheap
compared to Reliance and Aircel’s 3G tariffs)?
