Re: [AI] how to switch between two devices connected tobluetoothheadset
Hi mohib sir, actually any general Bluetooth headset allows us to pair up to 8 device simultaneously. So once your device got paired on your headset, you no longer need to pair over again. what you can do is suppose you are listening laptop on a headset, and you plan to listen your mobile, just disconnect your laptop by turning off your Bluetooth of laptop, and then connect to your mobile on phone by going to the paired device list on your phone, and then connect to audio device. Some time this tricks doesn't work, in that case turn off your headset, and turn on again. Now try to connect by the above process, and you'll on the move! -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of Sheik Mohammedali Sent: Monday, February 02, 2015 7:21 PM To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issuesconcerning thedisabled. Re: [AI] excel queries
Dear All, I think I have not explained very well. I will paste the text in my book and may be it would be more clear. text from the book We can also solve for the payment. Suppose we need $700 in five years and believe that we can earn 16.9 percent per year on our investment. We can find the amount we will need to invest each year to reach that goal. If we put our cursor in an Excel cell, and type =PMT( we will then see the formula that needs to be completed for Excel to solve for the PMT. It will appear as: PMT(rate, nper, pv, fv, type) text in the book ends When I hit = and start typing pmt, JAWS only announces payment and not PMT(rate, nper, pv, fv, type) And if I try to understand through arrow keys it announces where I want the result say, I am entering the formula in a1 and to type the formula I hit = and type payment. Now, if I try to navigate through arrows it would announce =b2, =c2 etc. So I am not sure how to get access to PMT(rate, nper, pv, fv, type) Sincerely Siddhi On 2/2/15, Amiyo Biswas amiyo.bis...@gmail.com wrote: Hello, When we type something in an excel cell, we cannot use arrow keys. Re: [AI] how to switch between two devices connected tobluetoothheadset
Hey Raju, what is the use of multipoint technology or simultaneous connections when we have to disconnect first device in order to listen second device? Actually multipoint technology allows you to connect to Bluetooth headset your laptop and mobile at the same time, with out disconnecting either, u can listen any of them. but here I am unable to find the method to manually switch between two devices. So far I have observed that if I don't touch one device for 30 seconds, the audio focus of the headset goes to either device you use. But I wanted to switch the devices as per my own choice and not waiting for this standby time. On 2/3/15, raaju bidh...@gmail.com wrote: Hi mohib sir, actually any general Bluetooth headset allows us to pair up to 8 device simultaneously. Re: [AI] excel queries
Hello Sidhy TO read the function arguments that you are suppose to enter to get the final value, you may follow this alternative method. 1. Place your cursor on the desired cell when you wish to obtain the final result. 2. Press alt key to invoke the excel ribbon; navigate to the formula tab by pressing arrow keys. 3. Look for the insert function under option function library and press enter. 4. Type the PMT in the edit field and pres enter on the search button, all matching values will be displayed. 5. Select the PMT function form the list and again press enter. 6. Now the form will be displayed with following fields, use tab key to navigate, for your ready reference I am also giving you the explanation of the function arguments that will be displayed in the form. Interest rate is the interest rate for the loan. number_payments is the number of payments for the loan. PV is the present value or principal of the loan. FV is optional. It is the future value or the loan amount outstanding after all payments have been made. If this parameter is omitted, the PMT function assumes a FV value of 0. Type is optional. It indicates when the payments are due. Type can be one of the following values: 0 Payments are due at the end of the period. (default) 1 Payments are due at the beginning of the period. Hope this helps. Forwarding a post. When Your Partner Becomes Visually Impaired ... Helpful Insights and Tips for Coping by Carol J. Sussman-Skalka, CSW, MBA (Inside front cover) Firsthand feedback about the value of support groups The group is a lifesaver. What we discuss really helps ... coming up with some of the solutions to some of the problems. Being in this group makes you think about what you're doing and where you're going. We can help and learn from each other. Hearing the concerns of others, talking about the guilt -- just knowing that other people have the same concerns, same anxieties, and knowing you are not alone is helpful. The Program for Partners Project was funded by the Grotta Foundation for Senior Care and the Wallerstein Foundation for Geriatric Life Improvement. (page 1) First Steps When your spouse or partner becomes visually impaired, both of you are likely to feel overwhelmed. You also may experience a range of feelings, from sadness to guilt, and there are many day-to-day adjustments to make. It's hard to know where to begin -- or how to access information about vision conditions, treatment options, help and resources. Vision rehabilitation services -- which include techniques for accomplishing daily tasks and resuming leisure activities, as well as emotional support -- can make an important difference in the lives of people with vision loss, particularly in their ability to regain independence. Encouragement from family and friends also can be vital in supporting their participation in these training programs. While you can play a key role during the rehabilitation process, you undoubtedly have many adjustments and concerns of your own. You may find yourself putting aside your feelings and needs to focus on helping your partner cope. Yet, in many cases, you may feel alone and at a loss about what to do or how to help. As one couple shared, Vision loss happened to us. You also can benefit from programs to better understand your situation, get support for your own emotional needs, and learn about relevant resources and services. Although your specific concerns may differ based on the extent of your partner's vision loss -- and how long you've been dealing with it -- you have many common issues with other sighted partners. Some of the most frequently expressed concerns and feelings are discussed on the following pages. They include: understanding what your partner can see and do, communicating successfully, relating to family and friends, dealing with independence and dependence issues, appreciating the benefits of vision rehabilitation and handling stress. We hope that this resource will provide support and information to help you cope better, and will, in turn, create a more positive quality of life for both you and your partner. (Page 2) Share Your Feelings: You're Not Alone When your partner becomes visually impaired, you may experience many different emotions, including fear, guilt, anger and frustration. These feelings can be hard to admit or accept, because they are commonly perceived as negative. It may help to keep in mind that feelings are neither right nor wrong. However, feelings can get in the way of your relationship with your partner if they are not recognized or understood. Guilt One of the most commonly expressed emotions, guilt can appear in many forms. It may drive you to take on unwanted responsibilities. As one partner reluctantly admitted, I don't like reading financial statements, but I do it because I feel guilty. Others experience guilt when they forget that their partners can't see things or expect that they should be able to see something because they saw it before. You also may feel guilty about taking time for yourself. And guilt may arise when you can't meet an immediate need or have to refuse a request. One wife said poignantly, If I can't take him somewhere, I feel guilty because he depends on me to get out. Remember that you're not alone. Your partner probably feels guilt as well -- most likely about the additional burdens and responsibilities being placed on you. It is interesting to note that guilt is defined as remorse for doing something wrong. Therefore, people may say they feel guilty, when actually they are experiencing regret, wishing that the situation in which they find themselves was different (Schmall et al., 2000). Talking with your partner about guilt may bring some relief. By learning that you both have similar emotions, you can each develop a better appreciation for the other's position. (sidebar) If I can't take him somewhere, I feel guilty because he depends on me to get out. Re: [AI] excel queries
Hello Sidhy making an attempt to answer your questions. 1. When you try to type in a particular formula say, payment or Average after hitting equals Jaws reads the average but I am not Sure how to enter the value in that formula? When we were entering Payment formula my friends could see the components of the formula Like rate, principle etc. How I get the Jaws read it? A: use the insert function option as elaborated in my previous Email. 2. If I have the formula and the value in the cell. When I press f2 Jaws read out the formula to me. How can I read the content within? The cell? A: You may paste it as values in a different cell, to do this, navigate to a blank cell press application key, select paste special... and select values radio button and press enter. Now you will be able to read the value by pressing f2 key. 3. When I am entering the formula for the first time in the cell if I try to use arrow keys instead of reading formula it read outs me =j2,=j3. I think it announces where I want the result of formula to be Entered. How can I read the formula? a: when you are entering formula for the first time in a cell the arrow keys allows you to make the the values in other cells part of your formula. To read the formula with the help of arrow keys press enter and navigate outside the cell and once again press f2 to review the formula. [AI] A blind man's dream,By Shilpa Baburaj
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/bhopal/A-blind-mans-dream/articleshow/46001120.cms BHOPAL: Always seek knowledge; these three words were the mental white cane for Professor Rohit Trivedi, who chose to illuminate the lives of others with the power of knowledge. He saw a dream and he struggled to fulfill it. Power of knowledge coupled with desire to illuminate lives of others helped the blind professor achieve unimaginable within the realm of his own darkness. Visually impaired since birth, Trivedi (52), who is currently the professor of English at Nutan College and a recipient of national award for being a role model for disabled through his outstanding performance in 2014 is a survivor of his fate. I was privileged to be born in an educated family that always believed in my special abilities. Initially, it was tough but after both science and spirituality failed to restore my eye-sight, I finally made peace with the fact that I will never be able to see. But I could dream, said Trivedi. In the initial years of my schooling, I studied in a blind school. We tried several other schools but nobody was ready to take the responsibility of teaching a blind student. Finally, I took admission in Campion school, but coming from a Hindi medium background, I was faced with the challenge of studying in a completely English-driven environment, added Trivedi. After completing his MA in English, Rohit went on to fulfill his dream of becoming a teacher, but it was no cakewalk for him. A number of applications went to dustbins and nobody believed in the blind man's dreams. Everybody doubted whether I would be able to teach students. Then one day, I decided to send an application without mentioning my disability and got an audience with the jury. There was dissidence amongst the jury to take me in, but there was a retired IAS officer, who vouched for me and gave me a chance to teach, said Rohit. If you have desire to do something, no one can stop you from achieving your goal, he added. -- Avinash Shahi Doctoral student at Centre for Law and Governance JNU Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe.
