Hi,
Not a mini-sized pocket Bluetooth keyboard, by any means, however, a
very satisfactorily spacious and feature-rich is the Logitech K480.
You can pair it with devices powered with about any operating system
and configure them to three numbers on a dial, which when turned,
seemlessly and rapidly toggles to the device on which the number is
set.
Thanks.

Re: [AI] regarding scribe colification in railway's special vacancy

2015-09-12 Thread bala9119
Its hightime to bring this issue to the judiciary and seek stay on the
recruitment process till the common, acceptable code of conduct of
recruitment is achieved. I'd like to highlight what happened in Punjab
last year. wwhen the government of Punjab announced special
recruitment for the visually impaired for the post of Hobby teacher
with a Musical digree or diploma mandatory, someone out of the Blue,
whent to the court and got the unreasonable recruitment process
stayed. this has happened after all the application related process
got over. thus, though this is late, its better to move to the court
against this ridiculous recruitment process and get it stayed now. if
the NGOs are not finding this necessary, let them be. we, the
individuals can join and take this issue to justice in the best
interest of our community. if anyone
can assist me in this regard with their legal expertise, I myself
obliged to confront this monster through legal means.
cheers.

So it seems I missed some important steps. Now it is working with the
headings spoken by the irritable narrator and the text is read by
Sangeeta.

Another thing irritates me. Even though I am deleting my name from the
creator box, my name is announced as the creator. Can I avoid it? I am
not
using any other name since this may not be the best compilation.

I notice that two folders are created, daisy 202 and z3986. I am
deleting

z2986 and renaming daisy202 with the desired title. Is it ok?

I selected English US, the traditional language. Will it be better if I
select any other English?

As per this error message, the language of your document is not set
correctly.
Perform the following steps.
1. select all text in the file.
2. go to accessibility menu and then press the language button.
3. select Hindi in the list and click OK.
4. save the file and try to convert again.

Hope this solves your problem.

Re: [AI] information required about smart cane devicess,

2015-09-12 Thread sirajuddin
hello friends, greetings.
SMARTCANE DEVICE

Smartcane device is a mobility aid for people with vision impairment and it
is used in conjunction with the regular white cane which is normally used
for mobility and navigation. It fits at the top fold of foldable white cane
and acts as a natural extension to the white cane. It can be detached from
the cane as and when it is necessary and can be re-attached using a simple
latching mechanism. Whereas normal white cane can detect obstacles up to
knee height, this device helps in detecting obstacles from knee to head
height. Thus, it prevents injuries on the upper parts of the body. The
device uses Ultrasonic sensors for detection of the obstacles and provides
vibratory feedback to the users about the presence of any obstacle. The
device uses different vibration patterns to convey the distance of the user
from the obstacle. It works in two modes - Indoor and Outdoor. It can detect
obstacles up to 3 meters when using outdoor and up to 1.8 meters when it is
used in indoor environments. In other words, it warns about impending
obstacles much before the possible collision happens. The objects like
people, tree branches, garbage dumps, walls, poles, vehicles etc. could be
detected from the mentioned distance. It also helps in finding
collision-free paths by providing special map information to the user. The
user can tilt it to different direction and follow the path where no
vibration is coming. It can also be used to follow someone while walking
while maintaining the distance from that person using a certain vibration
pattern of the device. The device is designed in such a way so that to
provide the aurganomic grip suiting to the different gripping styles of
different people while maintaining the ease of tapping the cane. The device
comes with in-built rechargeable battery which can be charged just like a
cell phone. Once fully charged, the battery can go on for approximately 8
hours of continuous use.

This device has been developed jointly by Indian Institute of Technology
Delhi, Saksham Trust Delhi, and Phoenix Medical Systems Pvt. Ltd. Chennai.

[AI] AmarUjala: Hariyana: A blind man Music teacher raped a blind woman teacher from 4 months

2015-09-12 Thread avinash shahi

[AI] Karnataka: Visually impaired college students demand implementation of schemes

2015-09-12 Thread avinash shahi
http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/karnataka/visually-impaired-college-students-demand-implementation-of-schemes/article7644107.ece
‘Repeated appeals to authorities have not yielded results’

Visually impaired college students staged a protest here on Friday
alleging that the State government was meting out a step-motherly
treatment to children with visual impairment.

The demonstration was held in front of the office of the Department of
Women and Child Welfare here.

The protesters alleged that several schemes announced for the benefit
of visually impaired students have not been implemented.

Citing an example, they said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in his
2014 budget said that 1,000 visually impaired students would be given
laptops every year at a cost of Rs. 4 crore. Though the scheme was
launched in Bengaluru where a select few blind students were given
laptops, but a large number of students of north Karnataka region were
left out. Repeated appeals to the elected representatives and higher
officials did not yield results, they added.

According to the visually impaired protesters, even the scholarships
disbursed by the government every month for blind students was not
reaching the beneficiaries at all.

Last year, the government announced that college fee of visually
impaired students would be refunded, but that has not happened in
reality.

Among their other demands, the protesters urged the government to
simplify the process of issuing medical certificates to visually
impaired persons, and distribute free bus passes to blind students.

They alleged that benefits of government schemes did not reach them

Dear AllIt gives us great pleasure to invite you for Antarchakshu 2015 at
St Xavier's College, Mumbai on September 15 and 16. Please find the invite
card attached (kindly note that there are two attachments; an accessible
copy of the invite is also provided).
Antarchakshu 2015Venue: St Xavier's College Hall, MumbaiDates: September
15 and 16, 2015Time: 11 am to 7 pm (A participant needs to spend only an
hour on any of these days).
Antarchakshu, as you know, is an awareness event that sensitises
participants to the world of visually challenged persons, and the theme
this year is 'Creating An Accessible World'. We keenly look forward to
seeing you there.
Would also appreciate if you could help us identify and invite as many
participants as possible as the event experience will prove invaluable to
a wide cross-section of professionals -- be they engineers, designers,
service providers or other professionals.
The one hour a participant spends will provide experiential learning into
how accessibility can be provided at various levels.
We count on you to spread the word so that a large number of people can
benefit from this experience.

If anybody needs further information, they can contact me directly.
Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,
